The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Milton and Donald. Breakfast in the courtyard was the highlight of our day and we loved the traditional Nicaraguan breakfast which was included. Very good location too.

“A comfortable stay in an historic building.”

We stayed 3 nights in twin bedded room Verso on the first floor in the historic building. Relatively large room with comfortable beds, good airco and a sitting area on a kind of veranda near the room. The disadvantage that the room has only a small window in the bathroom has the advantage that the room was quiet, no traffic sounds We liked it as the front side of the hotel faces a one lane street with quite a lot of traffic. Very nice building and a beautiful courtyard We liked the breakfast served by a very good English speaking and friendly employee very much. The transfer by private car to Granada was well arranged.

The hotel is excellent. It has a very good location, in Leon's city centre. All attractions are at walking distance, and it is safe to walk around, even at night. It also has a private parking which is very convenient if you are coming by car. The hotel is located in a nice villa with a patio, where breakfast is served.

Lovely colonial hotel dating from 1858 (former US embassy building). Beautiful courtyard, with plenty of space to have a drink or read, and just two blocks from all the action. Pool is on the small side but refreshing in the Leon heat

“Stylish elegant hotel in centre of town with freidnly presonnel”

Beautiful hotel in old style that had been embassy of the US long time ago. Very stylish in almost every detail, centrally located, and quite. Very friendly personnel, in particular the waiters for the breakfast, who gave us background information. Good breakfast in beautiful patio. Spacious room with high ceiling, excellent bathroom and beds (see below for rooms without windows). Convenient parking in the courtyard of another house just across the street.

“Fabulous old style hotel in the heart of Leon with a surprising lovely pool- (needed in the heat)”

This was a fabulous place to stay in Leon; very close to multiple restaurants and the main square. It is quite safe walking around at night. We had a small room next to the pool which was mostly very quiet. Lovely garden area for breakfast or evening drinks The staff were very friendly and helpful. In particular, I highly recommend Milton at the front desk, who went out of his way to help us find a private car service to our next stop in El Salvador, as our extensive Internet searches were fruitless. (See below) We really appreciate the efforts that Milton made to help us. Claudio, from ‘Transport & Shuttles Nicas’, can be found on FaceBook, and he was far better and far cheaper than other corporate car services we found and he drove us in a brand new very comfortable air con car all the way through Nicaragua across Honduras and crossed two borders to get us safely and easily into El Salvador

The property is so beautiful and the room was very cute and comfortable, with everything we would need. The staff, especially Isaacs and Miguel were just wonderful, they made us feel so welcome and were helpful with us trying to practice our Spanish! The breakfast was great and served in a gorgeous courtyard. We enjoyed time playing pool in the bar and having a dip in the pool. The location was ideal we could walk everywhere in town easily and felt safe.

La Perla is a beautiful hotel right in the heart of Leon. The staff were so warm and welcoming when we arrived. Special shout out to the lovely Isaac who was really attentive and kind during our stay. The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Leon. It's only minutes away from the heart of the town. When you return back to the hotel it feels like a little oasis of peace and calm. The pool is fabulous, if a tad chilly! But the hospitality of the staff was fantastic. We felt very well taken care of. Also a shout out to the lovely Jose who is one of the drivers the hotel uses should guests need someone to drive them either to/from the airport or beyond that. He was so kind and helpful during our stay and very happy to chat with us about local history along the way. He was completely fantastic!
