“Amazing stay and even better hosts!”
A very unique and quaint castle with tons of character. The rooms blended in nicely with modern aspects of a hotel room but our highlight was the attentiveness of the hosts, especially Martin. He made us feel like we own the place and went above and beyond. Breakfast had a really nice local touch with local produce and the hot tub was amazing with a little snow. We can only recommend staying here!

“One of our favourite hotels ever”
It was the third time we stayed in the Burghotel Scharfenstein. We love the location - it's so quiet and close to a forest, so you can go for a nice walk. Rooms are cosy and very comfortable. And the food is great - both in the restaurant and the breakfast.

the property is an absolute gem. beautifully located and well designed and taken care of. the staff is wonderful and will Sontheimern best to make your visit a pleasant experience. we highly recommend the breakfast and the fine dining offered by the in-house restaurant. Also highly advisable to sample the in-house spirit collection. there are ample opportunities for hiking around and plenty of historical sights are within short diving distance. the terrace with a stunning view and a super nice coffee bar invited for a relaxing stop. we had a great time and will absolutely return.

“A thoroughly excellent stay.”
The location was perfect for us, an idyllic countryside spot, isolated and calm, it also had several short walking routes nearby. Our room was silent throughout the night, air-conditioning was provided, and we were impressed by the quality of the furnishings. The staff were extremely thoughtful and courteous, at breakfast our eggs were made to our own specifications, and on both nights the dinner went above and beyond our expectations. Utterly delicious.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet area. Amazing breakfast and a great restaurant to eat in the evening. Great service if you travel with a dog - there was a bed ready and bowls in the room.

“A modern hotel in an old castle”
Amazing location, beautiful, comfy rooms and great paths to walk in the forest nearby. Plus the restaurant was superb for both dinner and breakfast.
