The balcony was absolutely wonderful with a view of the lovely garden. Our host Marijke was very kind and helpful and the location could not have been better!

This is a lovely self contained apartment with a nicely equipped kitchen, including biscuits and soup! There is also a washer for clothes if you are staying longer. The room itself is fully stocked with lots of books and magazines to read along with guides to the local area in various languages. The city map of the area is one you can take with you and has all the main tourist places marked. There are extension and converter plugs in case you forgot to bring one or need anotehr socket. The balcony would be nice for a morning coffee in nicer weather but there is no view, I stayed during Feb. Not sure if it is for every stay but there was a slice of cake which was very nice! 10/10 The nearest cafe is down the stairs and there is a menu in the room.

The place is within walking distance to everything from train stations, museums, restaurant and shops. Very convenient. The place is clean and well equipped with facilities.

Great location and very cosy. The stairs are a little steep (just a warning to others).

The accommodation had the perfect location for our stay, everything was within a short (5-10 min) walk. Shops, restaurants, museums and the train station were very close. It is located in the old town, in a scenic part of Leeuwarden. The accommodation was clean and cozy, fully equipped. The owner is very kind and helpful.

The guesthouse isn't a standard hotel, more like an airbnb, in that it's one room (or two booked together) plus separate bathroom & kitchenette at the top of Marijke's house. It's very well set up, and would be ideal for a longer stay: there is the kitchenette with mini-fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, & microwave (only basic tea/coffee are provided free though). The bedroom has a large wardrobe with hanging & shelf space, plus lots of room for suitcases. A pedestal fan helps cool the room in hot weather, as does the private balcony, which is a lovely space to sit in the evening. (The balcony gets the sun in the morning, so would be nice for breakfast in cooler weather.) Everything else you need is in the bookshelves: tissues, basic toiletaries, sweets, books & magazines to borrow (in Dutch), tourist guides (Dutch & English). The house is right in the centre of Leeuwarden, very close to lots of places to eat or shop or to visit tourist sights. Also, only about 15 minutes' walk from the train station. It is all extremely clean and fresh-looking.
