Perfect location next to the canal. Close to bars/restaurants. Hotel furnishings and decor lovely, especially if you like the Beatles. Superb breakfast. Bikes safely parked in a bike rack in the hotel lobby.

Dirk is a friendly and welcoming host. The property is alongside the Canal du Midi with its long distance cycle route Le Canal Deux Mers. There is secure overnight storage for bikes and an excellent breakfast awaits. The accommodation is comfortable in a beautiful house and good value for money. Highly recommended.

Our third or fourth stay here and Dirk was very welcoming and helpful as usual. Great breakfast in the morning! Right on the Canal du Midi so ideal for walkers/cyclist in particular.

Dirk and Inge the owners were fabulous hosts. Nothing too much trouble It was a quaint typical French building located right by the Canal du Midi and the Nichols river boat hire company. The interior design done by Inge was amazing.

The location- right next to the Canal du MIDI and near to our boat rental office . Dirk and Inge were excellent hosts going above and beyond to make sure we were prepared for our canal cruise. Looking forward to our return visit before we head home

Excellent staff. Unfortunately we were on the top floor which involved a lot of stairs. Loved the village of Le Somail.

Great location. Lovely front terrace where we could sit and have a drink. Room really stylish with a beautiful petit bathroom. Good breakfast friendly hosts a great stay.

“Elegance on the canal”

Dirk and his wife run this beautiful hotel. With so many period features, it is elegance personified. The rooms are wonderful, and one almost expects to meet Hercule Poirot on the beautiful spiral staircase. Breakfast on the terrace was really good. We were cycling the Canal du Midi and found the hotel really cyclist friendly. Dirk, thank you for a fantastic experience.

Old hotel with character

Beautiful old building right on the canal with a lots of restaurants around it. Comfortable bed, friendly hosts. We arrived by bike and were able to store them safely overnight. A must if you are cycling the Canal du Midi.
