“Great value good holiday.”

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple (though more than I would normally have at home). Location next to gondola was great - could leave my room at 8:40 and be at the top of the mountain by 09:00. Manager was very helpful and friendly - late check out and good location meant I could get a couple of hours on the slopes on my last day.

Nice and quiet hotel very close to the cable car. There are spacious common areas where guest can relax and a nice terrace outside serving food and drinks. Room are also spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly.

Unbeatable location right across from the gondola. As a family of 4 we loved the snack bar and cosy chill out areas to play board games. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Would return in a heartbeat!

Perfect location, friendly and welcoming. Bathroom was tired. Extractor fan not working. Light bulb not working in bedroom. Breakfast was lovely, staff always happy to help.

This is a friendly place. Comfortable and family oriented. Its location is fantastic for the gondola; you can sit in breakfast and observe the queue. You can hire skis downstairs. And the place has its own bar. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. There is a bar and games room and a great spot to grab a beer outside on return from the slopes. Breakfast is pastries and cereals as described.

“Basic but great location”

This is a difficult review to write because if the ski conditions had been better we might have had a totally different experience. The location of this hotel is amazing the gondola le rosay is a stones throw away and had we had snow you would’ve been able to ski home with ease. However the apres ski at the bottom of this lift is nonexistent. Apart from the outside bar linked to the hotel which was too cold to use. We therefore ended up taking beers into the shared areas of the hotel, which had potential but have no ambience and no one else was there. In the downstairs shared longe there was a lovely fireplace but it was never lit, The staff of the place are very friendly and accommodating when they are there but sometimes if was hard to find staff to help. Our room was very small with a very small bed and needed more plug points. The bathroom had just a shower which was warm and good. The triple room we had smelled a little of the last occupants! If the linens on the bed were updated to white and the towels were bigger that would make a great improvement to the overall feel of the rooms. The vibe was very chilled and safe which was lovely with the family. We had no issue with leaving our door unlocked at night. The breakfast was super basic but fulfilled our needs. Overall I would say this hotel tries hard but with a few small touches could be a lot more comfortable.

It was close to the ski lift and the ski rental shop.

Very kind staff gave us a warm welcome. The hotel is on a great location with a parking spot for clients. Het town of Le Grand Bornand offers enough bars and restaurants in walking distance. The price was excellent for the room and breakfast was included.

This is a friendly smallish hotel which is just lovely. The staff were very helpful, especially when we wished to check out late (skiing on the last day). The location is unbeatable for skiing (lifts and buses to the other resort of La Clusaz) are 2 minutes walk.

Excellent location, great team offering fantastic hospitality and kindness. The hotel is comfortable, clean and had a great snack bar with some of the best views from the village of La Grand Bounand.

Perfect location and distance from the main ski lift to where the kids had their lessons! Staff were friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast and choice of sandwiches available for lunch and dinner on request. Good value for money, would definitely recommend for a family ski week away!

Superb location next to the ski lift with rental shop underneath the hotel. Great value for money in a great place. Room was cosy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was well organised in a spacious breakfast room.

My Brother and I Stayed at Le Rookie mountain hotel as we were booked to ski in the Grand Bornand ski resort for the week. We booked this as we were right across the street from le Rosay ski lift which was perfect to get up and go in the Morning. It’s also a short walk into the village where we had a lot of options of where to eat and shop. We also enjoyed the onsite food and facilities. Le Rookie mountain has a calm and quiet feel which is great afternoon a long day of Skiing. The bar was also nice to visit and get a snack and beer to wind down after a good Ski session. The Hotel staff were lovely and very helpful and welcoming. We really felt very welcomed and at home for our stay. Our room was spacious and had all the room and facilities we needed. Very comfortable beds and nice big bathroom. Thank you to everyone at Le Rookie mountain hotel. We can’t wait to come again.

“J'adore”

Amazing location, very comfortable and inviting with a shared lounge, breakfast area and bar. Very pleasant snack restaurant just outside, and a ski rental (with hotel discount) underneath. The staff were kind and accommodating, everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast was nothing extravagant but there was plenty of choice. Nice croissants.

“A relaxed hotel with lovely, helpful staff.”

The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. We had our dog with us and she was made to feel welcome too! The ambience is laid back and relaxed. The breakfast is continental style but plentiful, with gluten free options and soja products. The hotel couldn't get any closer to the telecabines. The rooms and beds may need refreshing soon as they are not entirely modern, but it wouldn't stop us from returning as it's such a nice hotel with lovely staff. Looking forward to next year already!
