“Fabulous location, fabulous host, fabulous accommodation”

Michel could not have been more accommodating, I arrived early and after a long hot journey I was offered a cold beer. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable and very spacious. The location was ideal for me and the hosts allowed my car to be stored securely. The accommodation was well stocked with all essentials and I really am looking forward to returning.

The location is exceptional. Our purpose for the visit was road cycling, and the starting point is phenomenal. There is a shed available where we could safely store our bikes. We arrived with one car, which we were able to park securely on the property.

Mixed Experience – Important Details Not Reflected in the Listing While the property was clean and offered the basics needed for a short stay, there were several issues that made our experience less enjoyable, mainly due to discrepancies between the listing and reality. Firstly, the check-in process was confusing. The listing mentioned that the keys would be in a lockbox, but closer to our arrival, we received a message asking for our arrival time and were given a different phone number than the one on the booking site. Upon arrival, the person who answered the call spoke only French, making communication quite difficult. Eventually, we managed to alert the host using a gate buzzer, but this added unnecessary stress, especially arriving late at night. The location was also not accurately described. The property is directly next to a busy main road, resulting in constant traffic noise, which might be disruptive for light sleepers. Additionally, the photos in the listing gave the impression of a more open and brighter space, featuring large balcony windows, but the actual apartment had small windows near the ceiling in the kitchen. Some practical aspects of the apartment were also surprising. The toilet is located in the corner of the kitchen-living area, and the shower cabin is placed directly in the bedroom. We were also instructed to dispose of toilet paper in a bin rather than flushing it, which was not mentioned in the listing. The kitchen was equipped for simple meals, though it would have been helpful if the pots had lids. There was also no hairdryer available Finally, upon checkout, we received a text in French requesting that we leave the property exactly as we found it. While we always tidy up before leaving, this seemed to imply a more thorough cleaning, which wasn’t mentioned in the booking policies. Overall, the listing needs to be more transparent about the property's layout, location, and house rules.

Good value self catering accommodation, 12 minute drive by car from Alp D'huez. Very clean property and friendly host.

The proximity to the town

Such a wonderful self contained room. Lovely location 10-15 minutes walk from the town centre. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay again if I am back!

“Comfy, Private & Cosy Accommodation”

The area is beautiful, near main roads to Grenoble & Briancon. At the foot of the Alpe d'Huez. An easy walk into Bourges d'Oisans & to supermarket & shops. Safe & secure property as gated. Owners/Hosts very friendly & kind, though did not speak English & my husband & my French is minimal, though we got by. Ground Floor accommodation, comfy twin beds, great shower & very well equipped.
