We had a really lovely stay in this hidden paradise in nature. Friendly welcoming host. Epic hikes into the national park. We swam in stunning waterfalls and lakes. We cannot wait to come back next Summer!

“Stunning location, amazing accommodation - i will be back!”
What an incredible place! It’s not a winter wonderland like it was last December but now a magical colourful Nirvana with so many wonderful butterflies. Right on the edge of the Ecrins National park but in good distance to Venosc, Les Deux Alpes, Le Bourg D’Oisans, Alpe D’Huez and La Grave which are full of activities for all ages. Ecrins Lodge is in a cute French hamlet which is just next to a cycle hiking path (Voie Verte) which takes you either to Venosc or to Le Bourg D’Oisans and beyond. In easy walking distance to wonderful lakes and waterfalls. The situation of the charming property which has beautiful Roses and a grape vine covering it is idyllically wrapped around the mountains creating a sense of peace and safety. There is a beautiful small waterfall/stream next to the chalet with a hammock! So many cosy places to relax to have privacy but also places to congregate to socialise with other guests. There is 1 very large cool balcony with a bbq and a small romantic balcony also. There is also a secret path (ask Dominic) which takes you right down to the river which is truly breath taking.

The location of the house is perfect and had all the facilities we needed during our stay. The host was super friendly and really easily contactable.

Location at the foot of Les Ecrins and Les Deux Alps, next to a tiny river that brings so much charm. You can literally start your hikes directly from the lodge. The host is very friendly and easy going. The kitchen and dining room are great. The board games, books, maps and guides are very useful. The hammocks are perfect for relaxing. Good WiFi connection, especially given the location. Shed to store skis or bikes. Despite what is stated on booking.com, the bathroom and toilet are actually private.

The owner, Dominic, was incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. He had great recommendations for restaurants and even made reservations for us. His other tip, to visit Lac de Levital was amazing: the two-hour long hike was well worth it. The lodge is in a beautiful location, next to a waterfall. You can hear the crickets at night. The lodge feels very relaxed: you share a large kitchen, living room and balcony with other guests, and you have your own private room. This place is perfect for active people!
