I LOVED this place! I was here two weeks before Christmas in 2024. For me, it was exactly what I was looking for: a place with immediate access to ocean swimming so that I could do lap swimming before and after work. This place was *ideal* for that. The little beach they have is kept relatively clean from seaweed . I swam everyday, twice a day while I was here. In addition, the 8 rooms that are built right on the docks are unique design providing all the ingredients for the quintessential the Florida Keys experience: Pelicans that almost land on your balcony, a magnificent view of turquoise water, the sound of waves lapping the docks lulling you to sleep at night. The view of the blue water from the hotel room sliding glass door was a spirit-lifting sight to wake up to every morning. (Exactly what I needed to recover from the gray of Seattle). I kept thinking of those pictures you see of Bora Bora hotels where guest stay in their own private collage surrounded by acres of blue water. That is the feeling from the Edgewater's 8 rooms facing the ocean. The owners did a magnificent thing here. It is a unique experience to stay in those rooms. Like living in a postcard. The hotel provided outstanding WIFI which enabled me to do my remote work from home job (daily video meetings using Microsoft Teams) from the hotel room while looking at that beautiful turquoise water. My second week in the keys I stayed in a more expensive hotel, but I preferred the Edgewater. Here at the Edgewater I felt I had more privacy and more peace and quiet. The grounds have great little restaurant which will pretty much cook you anything: grouper, yellowtail and mahi, mahi fish sandwiches, pizza's, pork sandwiches, salads, etc. Additionally, this hotel is the last property on Long Key (I think it's Long Key) before the bridge. So there is a very good view south, and peace and quiet. I hope to do more trips to the Keys and this will definitely be on my list of places to stay again.

“Wonderful waterfront room with its own deck and access to private beach.”

Wonderful waterfront room where we hunkered down for 2 days to see through Hurricane Milton. We were the only people at the lodge so we had the place all to ourselves. Regardless of the storm, we still were able to sunbathe and swim on either side of the hurricane passing.

We arrived and the hotel agreed to cancel our booking and then didn’t and charged us 235$ for the first night.

We had our own balcony right at the ocean, the view and the sunset were stunning! The room was clean and the bathroom was newly renovated. There’s also a foodtruck with very delicious food on the property.

The location of the lodge is unique , sunset is as good as it gets . the food truck is very good as in choice & taste staff is very kind and helpful great chill out areas

It was quirky and beautiful views across the water. Beds were comfortable , good food. Nothing to dislike for the cost
