“Great host”

Edit is very great host and I liked staying at her place.

Large rooms, large kitchen, very spacious and comfortable stay. Very accommodating host and helpful with all questions answered. Drinking water available and everything needed for cooking available. Amazing ambience and environment, parking available - quiet, so easy to sleep. Bonus - lots of animals around to play with!

Lovely stay at Fata Morgana Hotel in Las Terrenas I had a really pleasant stay at Hotel Fata Morgana. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, and the Dutch owner makes sure everything is well organized. She also knows all the best spots in the area and can recommend great beaches and nice beach bars — perfect if you don’t want to waste time figuring everything out yourself. The hotel isn’t directly by the beach, so renting a scooter is definitely recommended. Luckily, that’s super easy to arrange through the hotel: the owner makes a quick call and someone brings the scooter right to the door — and they pick it up again afterwards. Couldn’t be more convenient! What made my stay extra special were all the animals on the property: four friendly dogs and two adorable donkeys walking around. It really adds a warm and homely touch. I didn’t see many other travelers because I was mostly busy doing my own thing, but the room was clean and I felt completely comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and charming place to stay in Las Terrenas with great service, helpful local tips, and some lovely animal friends! Greetings Marvin & Michelle

Wonderful, authentic stay, perfect for animal lovers. I really enjoyed the peace, the simplicity, the friendly animals, the hammock, the shared kitchen. Loved every moment.

It was a amazing place to stay, the animals are lovely and the garden is really nice and relaxing. The communal areas are nice as it makes you interact with other travellers and hear there stories and tell you about places to visit. The staff and owner where really nice, Edit (the owner) is very helpful with her 5 language and experience as a guide.

The garden, the kitchen, the animals

Rooms in nice little cottages in the garden, each with own terrace with a hammock, nice to spend time in. Shared kitchen with everything you need. About 30 minutes walk to 2 beaches, however many local stores and comedors nearby. Close to bus station. We planned to stay for 1 night and stayed for 3. The owner helped us plan 1 of the trips.

It’s a great place to stay, extremely clean and well Maintained property. It is a little farther out from town but also closer to playa coson and playa Bonita. It’s also easy to find. The room was very comfortable and spacious and well worth the money, very cheap for what you get. Drinking water available in the shared kitchen. Hot water in shower.

Good value for the price, I got there later at night and left early so didn't get a chance to use the amenities or look around the property. I appreciated that the host helped me with securing a moto-taxi

Fata Morgana is a haven of peace. Everything about the gardens, the communal kitchen and my room showed pride of ownership. Edit met me with a smile. She answered my many questions with great patience. If you get a chance go hiking with her. She is a certified tour guide and you couldn't be in more capable hands. I spent three weeks at Fata Morgana. I felt I was part of an extended family. Edit has a heart of gold and rescues animals who need a loving home. The dogs and two donkeys are testimonial to how caring Edit is. There are many beaches close by; all of them lined by palm trees. Gorgeous turquoise ocean too. The scenario looks straight out of a travel brochure. If you don't care to walk you can flag down one of the many "conchos" (motorcycle taxis) who will whisk you for CAD$3 either into town or to the beach. My two favourite beaches where Playa Bonita and Playa Popi Punta (lovely drift wood at the point). Lots of grocery stores in town where you can get everything your heart desires. Make sure you visit the gelato place with its many tropical flavours. A really yummy treat. If you are thinking about booking this place don't hesitate. You will be rewarded by a clean room, comfy bed, hammock swinging at your front porch. There was also a perfect space in the common sitting area to unroll my yoga mat. During my daily practice I noticed many tropical birds and butterflies. Fata Morgana is a magical place. I hope I will be back there real soon.
