“Unforgettable Place”

From the moment we arrived at Clava Verde we knew we were in for an unforgettable experience. Every single aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. The hospitality at this place was second to none. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, always greeting us with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to help. What I like to point out is that the food was simply outstanding. Chef Emelie and her staff clearly takes great pride in their craft, as every meal was great. From breakfast to dinner, each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The variety of options catered to every taste, and we especially loved the local specialties. The place was very clean and designed very nicely. They were a few places that you could hang around and just relax. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. One of the highlights of Clava Verde was the breathtaking view. Whether we were enjoying a meal on the terrace or relaxing at the pool, the scenery was nothing short of spectacular. Last but not least we want to thank the owner Jonathan! He was incredibly kind, cultured, and full of fascinating stories about his experiences in the Dominican Republic. Taking the time to chat with him was a true pleasure, and we highly recommend that any guest do the same—his insights and warm personality added a unique and personal touch to our stay.

“A jungle retreat - rustic and welcoming.”

The location was amazing, up in the rainforests - this could have been made much clearer in the information for the hotel. While certainly not a disappointment, it was a surprise. The staff were lovely, and attentive, and the live music was an unexpected bonus.

Is not easy start, because we enjoyed all they offer there , but human quality of Noemi & Jonathan and all the staff, the care they have with the guests, the details and the Nature around, the kitchen and the delicious food (BEST Piña colada 00 alc. ever tasted ) and the sweet dogs (Loba and the old pack) made our days in Samana a one Life experience. If you want enjoy las Terrenas, sun bath and beach lovers should add calm and peace in mornings and evenings in this really special place. I want also mention the good beds, hot showers and delicious breakfast and the impressive green views and songs of tons of birdlife.

“Relaxed comfort with friendly people.”

I loved the peaceful location- down an unpaved track , elevated location with far reaching views. The hosts and their team of staff are just very lovely people- there is a sort of old school home away from home feel to the place. The food is just great in that there are plenty of really healthy options- fresh ingredients and home cooked items. They arranged for me to hike with a neighbour- a french lady who has 10 years experience of all the local tracks- on horseback and on foot...it was fabulous. It was great to have hot water and quality towels and bed linen. I really felt very comfortable here as a solo traveller.

Our stay at Clave Verde Ecolodge was fantastic. We didn’t know what to expect, but the website looked very promising and the reviews were excellent. We couldn’t agree more! The ecolodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens and the views are spectacular. The room was very clean and comfortable. All meals were prepared with fresh, local ingredients and great care. Clave Verde is a wonderful place to relax, but also very central to explore Samaná. Jonathan, Noemí and their team really know how to make guests feel at home in a short time and they were always available for any questions we had. We already miss our interesting conversations and can’t wait to catch up again!

In the middle of the nature and close to the town, designed with care and operated by friendly staff. The restaurant serves fresh and delicious food. We enjoyed our 2 night stay despite rainy weather. Highly recommended 😉

We came back from Clave Verde feeling grateful. We loved waking up to nature sounds, serene surroundings, fresh juices, and healthy, hearty breakfasts. We enjoyed our morning conversations with Jonathan and greatly appreciated Noemi's recommendations for places to go and her arranging our trip to El Limon waterfall. We decided to have our last dinner at Clave Verde's restaurant, and we regretted not doing that every night; the food was exquisite and made with a lot of love; thank you, Sandra, and everyone in the kitchen. Clave Verde is a short drive to most beaches around. It's a great location if you want to enjoy the day trips yet retreat away from the hustle and bustle in the evening. Please note when you arrive, it is a steep drive up the hill; it helps to have the shift on the 1st gear.

I loved perfect views, nature. It's far from town, but quite close to the road, if you want to catch guagua to somewhere. This place is simply excellent!

Fantastic location, very peaceful. Very friendly staff. Beautiful food and drinks in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Great to hear about the work being done to make the lodge even more sustainable and eco friendly. Lots of useful local knowledge shared for great beaches/restaurants to visit in the local area. A great place to stay!

wonderful place, the perfect ecological break in DR. The experience was maximized by the magnifique restaurant with fair prices. Noemi is the perfect guest and help us gigantly on finding the tour we need. Definitely a place to come back.

Felt like home away from home, lovely staff, great conversations, beautiful buildings, incredible attention to detail. The restaurant is great, we sample a lot of the menu and never disappointed. We will come back.
