we loved the location! it is a remote quiet jungle area and its absolutely beautiful. the staff and owner are very nice people. food was delicious and everyone was very helpful. the sweet dogs made it even better. felt very nice to hang out at the place.

Right by the river to go for a swim or hangout. It’s so peaceful and scenic. The staff are lovely. Did the semuc champey and tubing tour through them, got to tube right to the hotel (although water was extremely low). The food was good & free yoga

“Beautiful and relaxing place in nature”

Beautiful place in nature. Sooooo nice. This is the perfect place if you want to relax, rest, walk/swim in the river. Love the way everything was built mostly from wood - the main building but also all the furniture/tables - very nice and impressive carpentry. Friendly people working there. You take all the meals there as it's too far from anywhere else but don't worry the food is good and filling. Recommend 3 nights because all the shuttles arrive in the evening so this way you can have 1 day Semuc / 1 day chill at Utopia or other activity. They offer Semuc tours, cacao tours and tubing from Semuc to return to Utopia. I walked to Semuc (40min) and tubing back - was fun!

Beautiful location, next to the water, close to semuc

The view is INSANE! Sitting in the dining area in the mornings and evenings is such a treat. It’s absolute magic. We met some really lovely people whilst staying at the hotel and it made our experience! We also LOVED the Semuc Champey tour and tubing (shout out to Ronaldo)!!

Beautiful location, friendly helpful staff

Staff really did their best to get to know your name and made you feel welcome. Hotel looks really lovely with candles in the evening etc. Big fan in your room. Transport was easy to and from hotel. Easy to arrange tours. Free drinking water.

“A well run, organised jungle retreat”

We booked the private bathroom/ shower room which was definitely worth the extra price. The shower was excellent and the room was very clean. The staff were great on arrival ensuring we booked onto the semuc champney tour the next day and our onward transfer was very smooth organised by them. The food they provide was lovely as well at a reasonable price, as it’s quite remote you can’t really go anywhere else unless you get a taxi but there is no need too

1. The location is amazing. The staff cares and always there to help. 2. You can hike to Semuc Champey from the hotel. Cahabon river is only a few meters away. 3. The sound of the river, the crickets and the clear skies at night are just amazing. 4. With the main paved road to Semuc, the hotel is easy to reach. But read point number four in the commentaries above. 5. Nice vegan food.

“Beautiful property with good facilities at a walkable distance from Semuc Chumpey.”

Very relaxing property with a beautiful outlook, with Semuc Chumpey only a 30-45 minute walk away. The meals were really good, with good vegetarian options despite being a little expensive for Guatemala. The staff were attentive, polite and clearly work hard to keep the place clean, creating a nice vibe and looking after the grounds. Their shuttle service to and from the Lanquin bus station is very helpful. The tour bundles on offer were good packages, however you can explore Semuc Chumpey yourself easily. We booked tubing from the bridge at the entrance back to the Hotel which was really fun and a great way to ‘travel’ back to the hotel only being a few km’s just down the river. Really good communal areas and hammocks, couches and chilling spots. There’s even art supplies and acoustic guitars!

A lovely hotel in the middle of the jungle! It had a great atmosphere, everyone was friendly and social especially at dinner time where you all ate at the same time. The food was all vegetarian and it was so tasty! We had a veggie coconut curry one night and a veggie burger another night. You could also get half or full portions. We did the Semuc Champey tour through the hotel which was really fun. Also the free yoga was great. Loved our stay here and would definitely come back.

We had such an amazing stay at this eco-friendly hotel! The setting is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. The food was honestly incredible — fresh, flavorful, and some of the best vegetarian meals we’ve had. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming. Jake was super helpful the whole time, which made everything easy for us. We did the Semuc Champey and K’anba Caves tour and it was unforgettable. Hermando was an amazing guide, and Ronaldo made tubing back to the hotel so much fun while keeping us safe.

“Relaxed jungle vibes”

Relaxed lodge to spend time enjoying the jungle surrounds, river, yoga and massage. The vego food was delicious and substantial. The Semuc Champey, cave tour and tubing was highly enjoyable. Pia, the host, staff, volunteers and doggies were all welcoming.

Loved everything about the property and our stay here. It’s located in a beautiful area, right on the river in the jungle. I loved the food options, everything was delish and fresh, the chocolate tour and Semuc Campey full day tour with the caving & tubing was so much fun. All the volunteers were lovely. Yoga was a great start to the morning and the hammocks were so relaxing to chill in.

Ryan was very friendly and gave us a smooth check in. I was sick when leaving and he even got me some ginger. There is yoga in the morning and a great space to relax.
