“Perfect stay in Lamu - 100% recommended!”

Arnold is a great host, he loves what he does and made our stay perfect. The house is in Lamu Town, some minutes walking from the ferry and perfect for a visit of the village. We've been picked at the airport and guided to the house, which was great. Arnold provides all the information you might need - what to visit and good places to eat. He organised a tour to the Takwa Ruins for a fair price, which we enjoyed a lot. Breakfast is amazing, with options varying from different egg dishes to (banana) pancakes and fried vegetables. There's always a fresh juice, fruits, a hot drink and toast and it's served on the terrace, where we also spent some hours in the afternoon/evening. The rooms are clean and equipped with fans, we had everything we needed.

Amazing place with the host and owner Arnold who is very kind and always willing to help and gives very good advice about local places worth visiting. The breakfast is very good and diverse, with daily fresh fruit from the market. The house is very clean with comfortable beds and also backpacker friendly. Highly recommend the deep tissue massage, the lady comes to your room and is very much worth it. All in all a place to come back any time!

Arnold runs this place since 2008. He knows everything about Lamu and the area. He has prepared a special map and has a welcoming session with every guest. He has many suggestions about your stay in Lamu. As well it seems that everybody in Lamu knows Arnold. The place is basic, but clean and the biggest asset are three very large terraces with an excellent view on the town and the sea. JumboHouse run by Arnold is an ideal location in Lamu.

Everything was perfekt. The room is super clean, is safe and has everything what you need for a perfect stay. Arnold, the host, is increíble friendly, he will give you all informations about Lamu/Shela and all Islands around. He knows everything and the advices for nice day trips, hikes, restaurants... are insane. The breakfast is amazing and you can start your day with a good coffee or tea. The balconies are so beautiful and you can see whole Lamu from the highest one. Thanks for the nice time and all the perfect advices for whole Kenya:)

Hostel tucked away behind old town centre, uphill so breezy (good), great views from THREE terraces. (Stairs!!!) Bit of a hike to get there but very interesting little streets and you get to meet your neighbours on the way in and out. Room spacious, well equipped; warm but fans (and you can sleep on terrace if steaming). Private bathrooms. Really nice breakfasts, good choices, eggs/veggies/pancakes/toast/butter/jam, fruit juice, fruit, all super fresh and beautifully cooked and served to order plus tea/coffee available all day. Arnold and Fred work very hard to keep things clean and tidy, and offer tons of info on EVERYTHING you could want to know. Plus good wifi. Extremely friendly atmosphere. Excellent value for money; I strongly recommend, esp. for a single traveller, felt very comfortable and relaxing.

Owner meets guests at ferry pier and likes giving valuable Info. He even gives a self printed map of the town 's interesting sights.There was a choice of breakfast. Freshly prepared juice. There was battery back up for current blackouts, although we did not have to use it.

Perfect accommodation. Arnold really takes time to welcome you with free welcome drinks and a introduction into the city of Lamu. He gives you a map with recommendations for restaurants and activities. Room was good and the private bathroom was even better. Amazing rooftop terrace and amazing breakfast. Highly recommended staying here (Lamu is better than Shela anyway)

It was a great trip to Lamu. The hotel owner will give you a map with detailed information about Lamu and will also tell you the transportation price in advance for reference. The view from the rooftop tower is great, you can watch the sunrise, the breakfast is delicious, the room is very comfortable, and I had many great conversations with the owner in the evening. I hope the business will continue to improve.

Arnold the host is the best! They provide everything you need to make your stay in Lamu great! The breakfast is delicious with vegan options. Although the host is German, he knows everything and everyone, so I highly recommend this place if you want to spend your time with the locals (Shella, the other town with more hotels and restaurants is beautiful but basically made for European tourists)

Arnold welcomes you with a drink and a map over Lamu, so helpful! The place is clean, Arnold very friendly and the breakfast is delicious. The rooms are fully equipped with everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend everyone going to Lamu to stay here!
