“Beautiful surroundings, very kind staff, a perfect place to unwind.”
It really is like a little green home-y paradise. Compared to other properties that are at the sea front, Banana House offers more secluded peacefulness, and the sea after all is only a 2min walk away. There are plenty of areas to relax, the yoga area is spacious and well ventilated, and taking a class is a perfect way to start the day.

“An idyllic place”
A real oasis of peace and tranquility. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Poolside was so relaxing - absolutely idyllic. Very efficient at arranging transfers and city tour, too. Absolutely superb.

“One of those places that invites you to slow down and stay present”
The space feels so relaxing and peaceful. We loved how it’s set up, with each floor having a common area that can be used for meals or sitting quietly with a book. They staff is quite friendly and helpful. The pool is open 24 hrs so whenever you want to deep into the water it’s available. We loved the yoga sessions in the morning, especially with the instructor, Steph. She was amazing. They also organized for a turtle hatching that we got to watch, which was one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve witnessed.

“Perfection on beautiful Lamu.”
From before we arrived the team were responsive and helpful, Muzne and Jackie were exceptional. On arrival the team looked after us and during our stay their hospitality was fabulous in particular Lenas, and Kalamares. If we needed local information, tours, boats etc it was all well organised and communicated to us. We had the penthouse suite and it was superb, comfortable, plenty of space and lovely to have our delicious breakfast every day on the terrace. The food was fresh, and every meal we had was very tasty and great size-portions. We will be back to stay at Banana house again next year. Thank you for looking after us.

Our room was facing the road, which made it noisy. There was a fan, but the ventilation in the room was not good, and it was very hot at night, so we were not able to sleep well. The Swahili dinner in the garden was great, but unfortunately there were too many mosquitoes. Breakfast was nice but we had ordered it one day in advance and it was not prepared on time. Since we had booked a morning activity, this caused some stress.

“Warm place to stay. A lot of authenticity”
The staff are kind and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable. Slept like a baby. Clean place. The Swahili dinner had excellent authentic set up I liked that you can have breakfast set up right outside your room.
