Large clean rooms, basic but comfortable. lovely view. Host lovely and helpful. Located near good restaurant and central to all the churches. The host organised a second shuttle to bring us directly to the accommodation as the shared shuttle from the airport dropped us in the edge of the town which was a 10 minute walk away

Beautiful view, nearby Kana restaurant and churches, very cosy room and they connected me with a great guide for the churches and hiking. Highly recommend!

There were many exceptional things I loved during my stay at the accommodation. The views, the tranquility, the rooms, the breakfast... however, what I value most about my stay is the staff's service, who perfectly adapt to the guest's expectations.

This was the third location I stayed at in Lalībela, and this one was the most quiet, most in contact with local family life and the most close to the churches. The view is also amazing, all in all making the price/quality ratio more than excellent 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

“Calm and secure in Lalibela”

I really enjoyed my stay in the Merkesa Guest House. It is clean, quiet and, most important, it is save. It has a lovely open yard where you can relax in the shadow of trees. The host, Tedy is polite and helps you with any issues and problems. He even borrowed me some money as mine got stolen. He lives with his lovely family aside and is there, when you need him. I absolutely recommend this spot.

The owner, Teddy arranged the transfer from the airport to the guesthouse, with a local taxi, at the real price. His all family are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse (very clean, with a remarkable view to the mountains) is close to the monolithic monasteries and the restaurant Kana, where you can take the lunch or dinner. Teddy can arrange various tours with various guides at reasonable prices. It was the best option to choose Merkeza Guest House.

Spacious and clean room. Balcony with nice views. Convenient location to St George and a few restaurants and shops are also nearby. Very quite at night though since located in a side street. Nice breakfast. The airport shuttle is also really convenient.

We had a very good stay at Merkeza, highly recommended. Spectacular views from the room, a peaceful environment, tasty breakfast with great Ethiopian coffee and a friendly and welcoming staff.
