“Great place to stay in lalībela”

Great location next to the lalībela churches. The room was spacious and clean and the view was spectacular. The cafe below is a great place to chill and hang out after walking around the churches all day!

“Highly recommended”

Very good location, just 5 minutes away from the churches. There also is a very nice restaurant in hotel which offer traditional Ethiopian foods. They also arrange a perfect tour guide, Mengstu(+251 921525521 ) for me. Mengstu help me visited all the churches in Lalībela city and in the mountain, he also lead me to visit the Saturday Market. Really high quality experience!

The Blue Nile Guest House is located extremely close to the churches of Lalibela, and also next to a market which makes the stay very convenient. There is a restaurant serving very tasty local food, so there is no need to search for anything outside the guest house. Before arrival the owner offered to arrange transportation from the airport and we also got a guide for visiting the churches. Upon arrival we were able to see one part of the site in the afternoon on the day of arrival, and the other part next day in the morning.

Everything was fine, hot water was always available and the hotel was located very close to the churches which are the main reason to visit Lalibela.

“Great value!”

The location is absolutely great! The churches are just 5-10min walk. Restaurant has an international cuisine. Staff is friendly and helpful. They even organized my transportation from and back to the airport without me asking for it. Special thanks to the receptionist Lidetu! He speaks a decent English and is always willing to assist you!!! Thanks Lidetu!!!

Support from manager Lidetu was outstanding! He made me feel home and he was available at all times. A true gentlemen

“Perfect place to stay in Lalibela”

Everything was excellent, lovely comfy clean room with balcony in a perfect location. The staff were so welcoming and friendly , there is a restaurant/bar on site with great food and beautiful views of the area. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, special thank you to Lidetu for making our stay special. You can also organise your guide for the churches here , we used Telake who we also highly recommend.

Really noisy at night - church, barking dogs. It wasn't a pleasant night.

Excellent little restaurant on the first floor. Everything already mentioned, great location, great view and an excellent guide, Mengstu Fenbtaw, who offered his time and experience for me to totally fullfill my expectations of Lalibella on Easter week-end 2025. Thank you so much !!!

The view from the rooms and the restaurant on ground floor is amazing, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately one of the two beds was quite dirty covered in dead ants.

“Great place to stay in Lalibela!”

The hotel in very good location close to churches. A room was spacious, clean comfortable. The transfer was organized on time in a very reasonable price. The staff was very helpful, a very good contact with staff. Especially the young man at the reception - Tsegaw - was very supportive and helpful. The room had a balcony with a great mountain and village view.

Superbly located just off the town square and a 3 minute walk from the rock hewn churches. Lovely friendly staff who provided a lovely welcome with coffee on arrival. Comfortable room. Breakfast included in price.

One of the best places if not the best we stayed in Ethiopia. Clean, cosy, with beautiful view. Helpful and friendly staff. Not far from the center. Comfortable beds. Warm water.

The place has great location, very close to churches. There is a restaurant downstairs which is convenient, food is good. The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s good value for the money.

“Perfect stay in Lalibela”

Great place to stay, very warm welcome from the staff. Gashew at the reception was very polite and helped arrange the pickup to the airport. He also always made sure that everything was ok (And it was) Birhan, the manager is such a kind soul, he helped a lot, even when I was sick, during my whole stay in Lalibela. He's the fun cheerful type of guy and he made my stay much better. The place is super clean, with a good bathroom, a comfortable bed, a good view of the surrounding mountains. It's mostly quiet (Except in the morning where there often are religious events around) The location is also perfect for visiting the city and its surroundings, the churches are five minutes away, same for the "city center" (¿not sure?) where all the banks and ATM are located. Otherwise the small restaurant under the guest house is one of the best in town for Farenjis. The food quality is good and it's not too overpriced (Especially considering the other options in town), with good international options (But also Injera) I definitely recommend this place!

“Value for money.”

Not much choice for breakfast. Location is center of town and walking distance to Lalibela churches. However it can be noisy so if one is looking for something quiet better to find another one. Evening sunset view from dining is beautiful.
