“A good value choice espeially for Christmas”

The location is great, within walking distance to the rock-hewn churches. The room is very spacious; it has a double and a single bed and another single one is in a adjacent room. The restaurant is good, we liked the spaghetti with sauce although it was not warm. The staff were helpful and friendly. They made some phone calls for me as I traveled without a mobile phone.

Very polite stuff. The guy working in the reception was trying to do his best for us. He even walked with us till a restaurant in the city for not letting us alone. The hotel is centrally located and our room was huge.

The hotel is modern, but full of character. Very spacious rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is quite close to the rock-hewn churches, so very convenient. The guide was great.

I was alone in entire hotel and I was the only guest during my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, he told me many interesting things about Ethiopia and current situation in this country. I had big room with hot water.

Very nice place. The receptionist was polite and very helpful. He offered us a guide. Kalehiwot was knowledgeable and open to our suggestions. Highly recommended!

“Don’t travel to Lalibela at the current time”

My room was upgraded because no one else was staying at the hotel when I was there (more on this later). The room that I was upgraded to was large, but fairly bare. The hotel is in a good location, a short walk from Lalibela’s famous churches. The manager was able to organise a vegan breakfast for me, which was greatly appreciated.

New hotel in excellent location in Lalibela, which amazing views from the rooms. The staff were so kind and spoke excellent English, breakfast and dinner were generous and tasty, and it is only a 2 minute walk to the famous churches of Lalibela. The rooms are huge with comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Highly recommend!

The staff is very kind and helpful, the room big and clean with a nice view on the garden. The location is not far from the main gate to the churches. WiFi works good.

Very nice and pleasant hotel close to the stone churches. The hotel manager Thomas arranged for us some very interesting tours and was a precious guide for Lalībela and surroundings.

Best place to stay to visit La Libela. The room was so nice and with everything you need to spend de weekend. The breakfast was so complete and the staff is always attentive and friendly. Totally recommended.

Very central location, walking distance from main attractions. Staff is polite and nice, rooms are spacious and clean. It's a relatively new hotel. I had an unplanned dinner at the restaurant and it was really tasty.

“Great little hotel with very sweet and caring staff”

This is a great little hotel with very friendly staff. Nowhere else in Ethiopia we felt as well cared for as in Bete Serkie. The room was spacious and in good condition. We would go there again.

Thanks so much! Wonderful trip for our family. Close to everything we needed! An easy walk to restaurants (Kana, Fikr Juice across the street) and a short bajaj ride to Ben Ababa and Ma'ed. We all felt safe and cared for during covid and the election uncertainty. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast was more than we expected and so appreciated for our group. Extra attention was given to the toddlers in our group, and we felt right at home after we checked in. ALL the staff was wonderful. We will be back! :)
