Set amongst 300-year old vineyards in the La Rioja-Alavesa region, Posada Mayor de Migueloa is housed in a 17th-century Baroque mansion, Palacio de Viana. It features a restaurant serving traditional Basque and Riojan cuisine. The guest house maintains many charming, historic features and has antique furnishings. These combine to provide an authentic and traditional, Spanish setting for your stay. The hotel’s greatest feature is the cavernous, vaulted wine cellar – full of the most exquisite wines from the surrounding Rioja region and beyond. The Posada Mayor de Migueloa is found in the Medieval village of Laguardia, part of the Rioja Alavesa region. This area is known for its full-bodied wines. Beautiful hotel in an incredible medieval town. The staff was incredible. Rosa Mari and Yosef were so welcoming and made our stay wonderful. We highly recommend this hotel and LaGuardia!

“Outstanding hotel with amazing people and Amazing food”
A true gem off the beaten path situated in beautiful medieval town of Laguardia. The location, the staff, and the general atmosphere of the hotel were all fabulous. The food was absolutely amazing. This was by far the best location on a 2 week tour of Portugal and Spain. If you are visiting the La Rioja region, this is worth a night or more..

“Wow - We enjoyed this Hotel!”
A stunning hotel in a stunning city. The reception team were excellent when we checked in, giving us all the necessary information re parking, access to the hotel, city information and much more. It was lovely to meet the owner of the hotel and to understand the passion behind owning and running such an old and interesting hotel. Thanks also to Jouseff who gave us a tour of the wine cellars and winery - thank you, I'm only sorry we didnt have room on our motorbike to take the wine with us! A great stay and we look forward to visiting again.

Very cute, historic inn and winery close to everything in the town, including one of the gates near the parking areas, which are all outside the city walls. The husband-wife team that runs the hotel was very helpful and it was a nice bonus to have a great restaurant and a working, historic winery in the hotel. Everything was fantastic and we would stay there again.

“Wonderful experience with great staff”
The owner and the staff were amazing with us, they took time to explain us about the wine area, their wines, the town, the history. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The property was lovely, it was ancien style as from 1619 but very well kept so it had all the facilities to make the experience wonderful.

Everything was great! The room was big with a comfy bed and bathroom adequate. The food in the hotel was really good and we did a wine tour with the owner which was really enjoyable. The hotel was really old with lots of character and the wine cellar was amazing underneath it!
