“A perfect place to experience Rioja Alavesa”

What a truly unforgettable stay we had at Hotel Eguren Ugarte where viticulture blends with fabulous gastronomy and hospitality! The view across the vineyards was truly breath-taking and all but the entrance to the hotel faces that way - bedrooms and restaurant alike. Room was comfortable albeit on the slightly small side, with a very good ensuite bathroom - all impeccably clean. Great breakfast and excellent evening meal (set menu) very reasonably priced - we ate here both nights and found the food to be among the best we've had in Spain - lots of regional influences incorporated. We had the meal with 3 different wines from the winery at 49E - all delicious. Great staff - beautifully maintained grounds. Excellent bodega and we did the wine tour which was very good - it really helped us to understand the ethos of the place and left us feeling a real sense of Victorino, who was inspired to create this place. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Outside of the fabulous vineyard and authentic experience. It really was the staff who made our stay, the lovely lady on reception, the amazing tour guide who explained the history of the vineyard and the super attentive staff at dinner - everyone is so passionate and engaged it truly makes for a special stay. The rooms are modern. Breakfast was fab - fruit, pastries, egg/bacon, cereal, toast - everything you could hope for. Walking around the grounds is spectacular and I’d 100% recommend the tasting menu in the evening. It was 39euro per person for a 5 course tasting menu. A glass of wine starts at 2.50eu, amazing value for the quality. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing views, lovely hotel. Great food and wine, we did the lunch and caves tours. Our room had a terrace overlooking the vineyards, spacious rooms and friendly staff.

“Excellent stop for the Picos”

Lots to like here, enjoy the wines, rooms are great and have excellent views, nice soft beds, food was superb and recommend the wine pairing. Staff helpful and courteous. Waitress was excellent. Parking is easy. Strongly recommend as a stop point for bikers and hikers doing the Picos.

The property is in a beautiful location, in the middle of vineyards, has great views and the winery which is made up of lots of caves and a 5min drive to a picturesque town. The communication before the stay was great, and we were able to organise a vineyard tour and tasting on our first day which was informative and different to others we have done (as you go through the caves). The staff were always friendly - particularly to our 8 month old baby that we were travelling with. The breakfast was good, and the dinner set menu was great value (€50 for 4 courses and 3 glasses of wine).
