We loved staying here. The property has been beautifully restored and you can see a lot of effort has gone into all the details. It’s the perfect location for spending a few days or a week in Rioja and visiting the local vineyards. The kitchen was well equipped and the dishwasher and washing machine were a bonus! Judith is a great hostess and was super friendly and helpful.

“Experience an old 18th century palace in a lovely village”

The wonderful house in which the apartment is located and the tasteful decoration. The perfect communication with the host Judith, who was very helpful. It was easy to park our car in the proximity of the apartment. We liked the village too, quiet and beautiful. We also appreciated that there was coffee, oil etc. in the apartment.

The apartment is in a restored historic building. It has been beautifully restored. Being an historic building it does mean some compromises in the layout and natural light. But it is well lit to counter the lack of natural light and is comfortably furnished. The apartment is located in a small town and there are many beautiful towns near by to explore. Judith the owner could not have been more helpful, proactive or responsive. We would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location for us to explore the Basque region. Welcome bottle of wine on arrival as well as little things like dishwasher tablets, laundry liquid and washing up liquid all available making life easy in the first few days of our stay. This beautifully restored historic property had all the facilities we needed to be able to eat in or sample the local restaurants and bars within La Bastida. Being able to buy fresh produce in the village grocers, butchers and deli was brilliant. As we were backpacking the use of local buses meant we could visit the neighbouring towns and explore further a field. Walking in the area is amazing, with several trails easily accessible as well as the mountain range behind La Bastida. Thank you to our host who was so accommodating and helpful in answering any questions we had.

The kitchen was fully equipped and included dishwasher soap and laundry detergent. Judith also supplies coffee. The building is an historical site and the location is primo. It’s difficult to express how wonderful this casa is.

Excellent accommodation, cannot fault it. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is brilliant for exploring the countryside around.

Very beautiful casa rural with a lot of space, a modern kitchen and comfortable beds. A relaxing stay in a nice village.

An excellent renovation to very old building. The bedrooms are on the second floor up a spiral staircase but there is an elevator just outside the room to take your bags up or if you don't want to use the spiral stairs. Judith greeted us and was very helpful.

“Well-managed, beautifully appointed apartment in a refurbished manor house. Delightful stay!”

The host, Judith, is fantastic. She is attentive, personable, and quick to respond. The house itself is a beautifully restored property with many original features retained. The furniture is of high quality, as are the linens, even including thick fluffy bathrobes. Judith left a bottle of local wine alongside two nice wine glasses as a welcome for us. We had chilly weather during our week there, and the heating system was fully adjustable and kept us as warm as we wished. Every appliance and fixture worked perfectly. The property is well maintained, tasteful, and a good value.

Great location in the quaint old town of Labastida. Comfortable and well appointed. Very accommodating for us and our two dogs.

Unbelievably reconstructed old house. You can really feel there touch of history among those stone and sandstone walls. Nice and helpful host. I hope we could stay there next during our visit in Rioja again
