“Clean and basic for a short stay”

Location (10mn walk from the train station, free parking 2 mn away and shops nearby), cleanliness, comfortable bed, nice continental breakfast. The manager/owner is professional

The room smelled of stale smoke, the bed sheets were dirty, the sink was blocked, the window blinds closed on their own so couldn’t keep them open.

“Overnight stay before an early train”

The hotel is located in the centre of La Souterraine with free parking a few metres away. The hotel has a restaurant, which I didn’t use, and plenty of bars and other restaurants within a short walking distance. The room was clean, warm and cozy. Some, perhaps аll, rooms are located in a separate building about 30 metres down Rue des Bains. There isn’t a lift in this building, so not suitable for those with mobility issues. It is about 5 mins walk to/from the Station

Due to travel services greatly disrupted I never had the opportunity to stay here . I left Paris to travel to La Souterraine at 17. 20 to arrive in La Soutteraine at 20.21. Because of a breakdown of the train in Etampes ( 1 1/2 hours delay ) we did not arrive in La. Souterraine until 22.00 hrs. I drove to the hotel only to find the hotel locked up. I then had to drive home arriving after midnight.

It was in a nice location, but the room was very small and my husband could not close the door in the bower!! The building was old and very tired, in need of a re vamp.

A quaint and characterful hotel. Perfectly situated for exploring La Souterraine. The dinner was very nice and welcoming The room was quiet and peaceful. The evening staff were very nice and friendly.
