Location is awesome, few minutes by walk from bus terminal and city centre. Also easy way to get to the beach. Breakfast was delicous and staff were nice. I could left my luggage there after check out before my bus was going. Also borrow hairdryer. Several bathrooms available.

“Fantastic staff and relaxing courtyards”

The staff was fantastic. From the warm welcome at reception, where they were always ready to help, to the cleaning team who cleaned the rooms, washed our laundry, and brought it back folded, they were always very friendly and thorough. The two courtyards were wonderful. You feel very comfortable in them, and you can also order delicious apple strudel, snacks & drinks. The distance to the bus terminal is very short.

Clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. There’s a dog and 2 cats around which are friendly. Beautiful courtyards. Lots of sitting areas. They also had a dinner menu. There was also a hummingbird in the garden.

Breakfast was really good! Two of the mornings, I had to leave a little early and they made me up a packed breakfast the night before so that I would not miss out. Really helpful. The whole feeling in the hostel is very positive and friendly.

Wonderful and colorful place - pleasant to be in and walk through the premises. Close to the bus station and to the city center. You really feel a South American traveler. The lady at the reception was helpful, nice, and professional.

“Friendly and welcoming Hostel close to Bus Station”

Very Beautiful and comfortable Accomodation in a good Location in la Serena! Only a ten Minute Walk to the bus Station which is extremely convenient. Jens and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming and we had a Great time there. They also serve very delicious food for a very good Price. We would recommend it to anyone visiting La Serena. :) Best regards and thank you, Susi and Theresa

“A cheerful homely hostel”

Couldn’t ask for a better location, very central and walkable between La Serena bus station and the historic centre, Plaza de Armas and Japanese gardens. The hostel is in a pretty old colonial building with colourful decor and interior courtyards. In hindsight I think we would have preferred a private double room with patio even more. We booked a standard private double room and it didn’t have an exterior window - our window faced into the hallway and courtyard, so it wasn’t particularly quiet or private as there were people outside the room all the time. But it wasn’t bad. Reception staff spoke English and were all very friendly and helpful. Our shower head broke on the first day and they managed to fix it within a few hours. Very good hot water in the shower. Offered laundry service at a reasonable price (6000CLP for a large bag). We weren’t charged 19% VAT here which had proved an issue at other accommodation in Chile. Overall we had a great stay!

We stayed for two days in late May 2025. Lovely hostel in central La Serena. Adequate shower. Good breakfast provided and very helpful staff whose English was much better than our Spanish! Some nice little courtyards to enjoy the outside and with some privacy.
