“a chilled taste of village life”
This is a difficult one to rate. One of the postitives was that I had the whole place to myself which was just luck. It's in a great setting with a nice sunny garden with a beautiful view with chairs and a firepit. Anais was I think temporarily looking after the place and although her English was about as bad as my French we managed to communicate ok. She was a very happy and helpful girl and showed me the fruit trees in the garden which I was welcome to eat any that were ripe. There was free coffee (very nice) and a microwave so I just managed to put together a kind of meal. I wasn't leaving till late afternoon and she was fine with me chilling out at the house and drinking beers with them after check out time. It's right next to the bus stop and not far to walk to the local shop. I was given a bus timetable in advance as I struggled to find one online which was very helpful

Gite is located very close to the GRR2 route, it offers simple but comfortable accommodation and the host makes a delicious meal and breakfast

“Nice staying in the mountains”
The host speaks English which is not common for the island. The food for breakfast and dinner was always great and they were super nice with me cause I am vegetarian and they always prepared something different. It's a good starting point for many trekkings in the area

“Great location, clean, friendly, super for hiking start point”
Great location for buses, hiking, parking & nearby restaurant & supermarket. Friendly staff, Adequate security, good communications, excellent wifi. Nice to ave a choice of board games for the evening. Good value breakfast.

“Nice place and good starting point for Mafate trekking”
Nice place, good views - Dos d'Ane is a lovely little town and good place to start a hike through Mafate Cirque. The rooms are cozy and clean, with good, clean bathroom (shared). Owners are welcoming and friendly. Very close to bus stop. Recommended!

“We had a great stay at, and had a brilliant hike in the hills, with stunning views.”
Excellent location in Dos d'Ane, with track up hills just close by. Well-prepared evening meal, with punch provided. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast fine also. And loved the black cockerel!
