Overview
Il Gabbiano was the first hotel on the island of La Maddalena, built in 1955. It offers beautiful views of the crystal clear sea and the islands of Caprera, Santo Stefano and Spargi. Free WiFi and free private parking are offered on site. Il Gabbiano has a private dock for those of you who have your own sail boat. You can relax in the private garden and on the sun terrace, right next to the sea. All rooms are comfortable and include a balcony with a view of the ferry channel between La Maddalena and Palau. They include a TV, minibar and private bathroom. Most have air conditioning. Breakfast is served daily and is a buffet.

The hotel is located right by the water in an exceptionally picturesque setting. It offers peace, impeccable cleanliness, and breathtaking views. A perfect place for those seeking relaxation and a close connection to nature. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly!!

“Fantastic location, brilliant stay.”
The location is superb, right on the water & a short walk to town. The views are superb - the room we had has a brilliant balcony with 180deg views of the sea and town. The hotel is retro, which we loved, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Clean room & good water pressure. Good parking available.

“La Maddalena, a treasure of Sardinia 🥰”
What I liked the most was being upgraded to a room with a beautiful sea-view balcony. The hotel is right on the beach, and the restaurant has a stunning glass terrace overlooking the sea. Having breakfast there in the morning while watching the boats go by was just amazing. The hotel is also just a 10-minute walk from the historic center, and the walk was very pleasant, passing through the beautiful Maddalena port.

“Great value room with lovely breakfast and incredible view”
Incredible view from the balcony, litteraly above the water. Easy 10 minute walk into town. Breakfast was great, I was not expecting much after reading some mixed reviews, but for the price the quality and variety of products was brilliant. Friendly staff

“Great little hotel”
The location on the edge of town means the hotel is very quiet and has an almost 360° view of the sea. The rooms are clean and adequate for our needs and the balcony area was great in the evening with the sea almost directly underneath us. Nothing to complain about. The receptionist Isabella is a bonus to the hotel, pleasant and always cheerful.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, helping us solve any problems that arise. The room was clean and spacious. The hotel is in a great location, close to the port. If I visit La Madalena again, I will definitely return to this hotel. Special thanks to the hotel staff for their responsiveness and assistance.
