The room was basic but comfortable enough and in the end good value for money. The pool was great and much needed with the high heat and humidity. Location was ok, bit far (ie: long walk) from main beach/surf spot (Punta Roca) but only 5 or so minutes in Uber.

“Fantastic except the tent beds.”
The staff and guests were great, great break out areas with hammocks, the pool to cool off from the intense daily heat, proximity to the beach, and the meals were great.

We had been here before so came back as it's easy to get to . The kitchen area has improved and has everything you need. We had the queen room this time which with the a/c was great. The pool is nice for a dip in between doing other stuff. Still very quiet and relaxing.

We had a really relaxing stay here, it is located 1 minute from the beach which is great (unless you are a strong/confident swimmer or surfer this is probably not the beach for you- the currents can be very strong). Although it is about a 20 minute walk to La Libertad city itself, there are a few restaurants and tiendas close to the hostel (it is also possible to get an uber into La Libertad). The AC worked well, our room was comfy and clean, and the shared spaces were kept clean. Cold water in the showers but not too much of a problem as it is hot

An alternative stay if el tunco is fully booked or expensive. This place is only 10min by car to el tunco, uber works fine and cheap. The place is fabulous and super cheap.
