Everything was amazing! The laguna was unbelievably warm, everyone was extremely nice and the room was perfect! I will definitely go back if I ever make it back out there!

“Wonderful experience”

The property was amazing and the food was delicious.

Superb guesthouse right on the lake. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, the bathroom had an outdoor shower which was really cool. Staff were so friendly. Loved the tyre tubes and kayaks and the pontoon to swim out to. Food was excellent!

Gorgeous location, right on the lake. Reception and breakfast / dinner on the top floor, level with the road. Seven choices for breakfast included. Steps down to the rooms and Laguna. Great views.

Great secluded place in front of the lake Apoyo. Bungalow was clean, functional and beautifully decorated. Bed linen and towels were fresh and the bed was comfortable. Personal was friendly and accomodating.

Daniel is a suuuper helpful and friendly guy, he has travelled extensively across SA and has some awesome tips. He speaks several languages too. The rest of the team are very helpful and I felt very spoilt there.

Very nice and quiet place with direct access to La laguna. Owners and stuff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are well equipped, everything is very clean and the openair bathroom with hot water-shower is great. Great place to relax!

Hot shower! The outdoor bathrooms are lovely. Loved all the bird life and use of the kayaks. A great spot to relax for a few nights. That staff were all lovely and the food was delicious!!

The gardens & views are spectacular. The thatched rooms were very adequate & the staff did everything to make our stay the success it was.

Beautiful location with the two Daniels, the owner and waiter as perfect host. Great food and beautiful garden.

The Swiss owner Daniel is really nice and told us a lot about Nicaragua which was a perfect start into our travel for us. He also made sure we could have a delicious Veggie dinner just upon arrival late in the evening. The Bungalows are cosy and the outdoor bathroom is really beautifully integrated into nature. Breakfast was delicious and offered nice view to the laguna de Apoyo. We would highly recommend if you want to stay close (1 hour) to the airport and still have a calm nature surrounding!

Such a lovely place! Really beautiful and peaceful and the food is so good! The cabana is beautiful and the outside shower is so nice. I was expecting the nights to be really hot because there is no AC, but it was not hot at all. And the fans work really good. Highly recommend this place!

“Favourite place so far in Nicaragua!”

Really enjoyed our stay here. The location is beautiful and peaceful, the room was the nicest we have stayed in during our travels, and the food and service was great. There are a couple of good hiking trails nearby to lookout points over the lake, the lodge has loads of different seating areas in stepped gardens down to the lake to relax in and they have kayaks free to use and a floating pontoon. More than enough to do for at least a couple of days even for the most active, but whilst also being able to enjoy staying put in one place.

This place is a DREAM. We have visited Laguna de Apoyo a few times in the past, and have stayed in different hotels. San Simian was a lot better than the others. It had access to everything we needed, AND it was a lot more quiet, it had lots of shade and beautiful gardens. There is a hike to the Catarina Mirador 100 m away from the hotel, which was a bonus. You wake up every morning with the sounds of monkeys, birds, squirrels and a beautiful view of the water. You can order a coffee thermos and have it ready for you when you wake up in the morning, before breakfast, so you can enjoy it in your room or in the hammock outside your room, or by the lake. The shower in the cabin we stayed in was open concept. What a lovely experience to take a shower under the stars! There is always warm water, which is a plus in Nicaragua The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Daniel, the server is always ready to help with whatever you need. Daniel, the owner is amazing, He has lots of great information about the area, and about other places to stay in Nicaragua. He is always making sure that you are well taken care of, and he takes great care of his staff. We are already planning out next stay at San Simian. Can't recommend it enough!

The hotel is located right at the lagoon with a beautiful yard and very nice chill out areas. We also enjoyed the food (vegetarian options!) of the restaurant. The breakfast selection is very good and you get more options than only Gallo pinto like in most of the hotels. The staff is very friendly and we had a great time chatting with the swiss owner. The massage was very good and you can use kayaks and tubes for free.
