“A true Eco Lodge run by an amazing hostess..”

This is a wonderful example of true eco living. The self built house and repurposing of everyday objects is a wonderful sight to see. Floorboards used as roof panelling, a piece of wood as door handle, etc Other places call themselves 'eco' but don't know the true meaning, here you have a living working example of the process. The owner Victoria is a wonderful hostess and her evening guest dinner parties are delightful. You will eat the best and freshest food in Chile here. Eat here if you can you won't regret it.. Salad leaves are freshly picked from a nearby garden. Her brownies are phenomenal..she has a great wine list, makes a fab cocktail. Breakfasts are wholesome without being over sugary. She gave us some great walking tips and advice on where to visit nearby. One of our best stays in Chile of the past 5 weeks. She showers great love and affection to her 2 dogs...we also experienced the joy of hearing the frogs croaking at night..

We really enjoyed our peaceful stay. We slept well in the peaceful surroundings and enjoyed the delicious food.

We came at the end of the season so Victoria was on her own with the 2 dogs. We had really bad weather whilst there but the hospitality was excellent..We wish you well.

“Probably the best place in Ensenada”

Almost everything - there is nothing to fault about this place. Victoria was an amazing host and helped out in everything we needed. The food was great as well. Loved the eco-friendly set up of the whole place. And staying in Ensenada was much better compared to other places such as Puerto Varas as the driving was easier and the main attractions were much closer as well. And their two lovely pets - Toto and Joya make it even more wonderful. Would highly recommend

We really loved our stay. Victoria immediately makes you feel at home. Fernando is the best chef, have dinner there! The breakfast also was incredible. The dogs are well trained, don't hesitate to go there.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was really quiet, in the middle of a forest. It's quite close to Ensenada, which was a plus considering the traffic coming from Puerto Varas. The room had everything we needed and a nice balcony. The host was lovely, very accommodating and made us feel very welcome.

A beautiful property is a lovely quiet location. We had a large, comfortable room, and the shower was hot.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property and the host and chef. We stayed in the room with one big bed and a bunk bed for our teens. It was perfect - sufficient space, clean, hot water, comfy beds, good WiFi, etc. The host is warm/friendly and helpful with anything you might need. There are two adorable dogs on the property who we immediately befriended. The chef makes delicious dinner which we enjoyed on several occasions. Breakfast was filling and on time, perfect for our hikes. The bread is a must! We had a hard time saying goodbye!

We chose to stay in La Colmena because its location near Parque Vicente Pérez Rosales, Volcán Osorno, Saltos de Petrohué and Lago Todos Los Santos. Also, because we like to support small eco sustainable business. La Colmena exceeded all our expectations and more. The Lodge is tucked in a thick forest with a couple of small creeks. Our triple room with a wrap around balcony was spacious, quiet and very clean. So was the cosy dining room and bar area. Meals were healthy, varied and delicious. All the produce is locally grown. Wine and beer selection was the perfect compliment to the meals. Victoria and her companions Gioia, Totó and Ailú made us feel at home the moment we stept out of the car. Victoria’s hospitality and warmth were specially endearing to us. Breakfast and dinners were on time and served with loving care. No doubt a special place for everyone.
