However the guy at reception was very helpful, he didn’t speak any word of English. I feel like this could be an issue to a lot of people. The room was moldy and didn’t smell nice at all, thin sheets on the beds instead of blankets, shower was terrible, no power and either way too hot or cold. Since the location is quite bad the only thing open at night to eat was a streetfood stand where i got severe food poisoning from (honestly, don’t go!!) AC and Wifi worked very good tho and the room we got was quite spacious.

did not like that the price listed on booking.com is not interested at all and when you come in the evening, you definitely do not want to deal with the higher price that is happening here. than states booking.com. So I ask where is the mistake?

“Great value for the money!”
COLD AC, comfortable beds, relatively quiet area, super nice staff. As a bonus, cheap (22 lempira) drinks were available in the lobby for purchase.

Check in was easy. Like most people we stayed here the night before the ferry to Utilia so for that purpose, it had everything we needed. The aircon was also really good!

Clean sheets, clean towels, clean room. No-thrills hotel, but perfect for a night before catching a bus (depending on the bus company) or ferry. Massive room! Very quiet, even so our room faced the bus station for chicken busses, Air conditioning. Hot water in the shower. Super friendly staff.

“Fine place to stay for one night - great price!”
We arrived in La Ceiba at 8pm in a torrential downpour, the second we checked in the power went out and was out until the morning. So our experience at Hotel El Dorado isn’t really a fair one as the weather was not on our side! So we had no electricity, no WiFi, no AC and for some reason no water in the bathroom. However that was fixed relatively quickly. I have no idea if the location was good or not as we didn’t get the opportunity to explore. Our double room was big and towels were included, it was very cheap so it served a purpose. As a stop off before getting the ferry across to the islands it worked well.
