“Great apartment on outskirts of Kyoto.”

Good sized, comfortable apartment with western beds, air con, sofas, washer, dryer and kitchenette. 10 minutes from the station and a convenience store. Nice local bar/ restaurant close. The parking space was a useful bonus.

Very friendly and informative host. Can communicate well in English. Apartment is located in a quiet and nice area, and just a 10-minute walk from nearby train station or a few bus stops from the famous Arashiyama area,

SAIZEN Matsumuro stay was perfect for us (family of four - 3 nights). We were welcomed by Jun and Aki, who had provided plenty of information beforehand, which made it easy to find the accommodation. The two bedrooms were very large with comfortable beds. The lounge area and adjoining kitchen had ample space. The massage chair was a bonus after a long day out. There was also an additional guest room. Everything was very clean. I particularly like the thoughtfulness our hosts put into their role. For example there were plenty of clothes racks (including on both balconies) and pegs for hanging the clothes after a load of wash. Another detail is there were english instructions for appliances such as the washing machine. In addition to the large rubbish bins, there were little ones around the house for convenience. These are the little details which make Jun and Aki stand out as hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Kyoto. Location was good (10 mins walk to the station, with a 7 Eleven half way there).

“A perfect stay near to local convenience stores”

Convenient parking spot reserved in front of property. The host were absolutely friendly and all the amenities is provided. Fully furnished with a massage chair to relax after a long day excursion.

Everything was great. The hosts made sure to post detailed instructions in the apartment about using the appliances as well as transportation and nearby amenities. The apartment also has a massage chair which was great after a long day of walking. It also has a selection of Ghibli movies, which is really nice. Thank you very much!

Lovely spacious apartment, immaculately presented. Jun and Aki were extremely hospitable and accommodating. Very helpful information provided to help us fully enjoy our stay.

The apartment was spacious and tucked away in a quiet area of Kyoto which we appreciated. We had a car and it was easy to get to places. Parking was easy. Jun and Aki were really helpful and they provided lots of information about how to use the facilities in the apartment in English. Totally recommend!!

“Excellent stay, lovely hosts”

Excellent hosts, very kind and very organised, there was information on sights, transportation, everything! We even had a little console to play on. The house was clean, with all amenities and super convenient for Bamboo forest. We found some good places to eat within minutes of the property

The home was very comfortable with all the facilities you need as a family. The beds were the most comfortable we had on our trip and we all loved the massage chair. The location has easy access to public transport and is easy to find. With local restaurants and shops nearby. I would highly recommend this for families as it provides a comfortable and large accommodation.

Lovely, well thought out accommodation for travellers. Owners were very friendly and welcoming and all the guides were very much appreciated. Would happily recommend and would stay here again if we get the chance to come back 🙂 The 100 yen drinks in the vending machine were very much loved by our youngest!

Loved how spacious everything was. Property was super clean and well looked after, there was a lot of appliances available for use and the owners provided detailed guides for Kyoto.

The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The bus stop and train station were nearby. The owner prepared excellent information about Kyoto for us. There was even a massage chair.

“Perfect apartment with the most wonderful hosts”

It was great arriving at this lovely apartment after a week of living in a very small hotel room in Tokyo. We were only 2 friends traveling so we got a bedroom each but I can see this place being perfect for larger families too. Jun, Aki and their daughter were wonderful hosts and so helpful and responsive to all questions we had. We're so glad we got a chance to chat with them for a while and learn a little more about their home country, Kyoto and their neighborhood during our stay here. Even if you don't get a chance to spend some time with them they have prepared fantastic recommendations for everything you could need, instructions and guides for all appliances and directions for how to get to popular destinations in the city and hidden gems near the apartment. Restaurants, onsens, shrines, grocery stores, public transport and other tips that were really useful. This apartment has everything you need and more. For us this was the perfect place to start our vacation after a week of work in Tokyo. It's quiet, cozy and gives you a little distance from the busiest tourist areas but still with easy reach to most places in Kyoto and Osaka. We wish we could have stayed longer and we would love to come back again.

Very clean, spacious and the hosts very nice. They helped us with transport and so accomodating to our needs. I will definitely will stay here again even though it wasn’t as close as I thought but once knowing the routes of the train stations which was only a few minutes walk. It was easy to get to Kyoto station, the bamboo forests and the monkeys. So close to our accomadation.
