The hotel staff is a gem. All of them displayed the highest level of japanese hospitality and competency. Any request I made was immediately fulfilled. They realized I forgot my room key in the room and had already one ready for me when I came back from visit. The room sizeis good to store many luggage and the separate kitchen is useful especially for long stay (include free minibar). Location may seems far from the center but remains close to a lot of public transportation and allows to be 1 min from the kamogawa river for nice walks

Incredibly comfortable, cozy, and beautiful room!!! The location is absolutely magical — right in the most beautiful area by the Kamo River! “Delightful riverside location”

We loved the location- a beautiful quiet neighbourhood with many temples within easy walking distance. The room was the best we’ve ever stayed in. We were sad to leave.

“Cozy and definitely worth the money!”

The hotel is a small boutique hotel located by Kamogawa river, close to subway and Eizan railway. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. I have been to Kyoto many times but staying at Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa had definitely made this trip even more enjoyable and comfortable. The hotel provides different local sweets and snacks everyday in the room so it’s always a surprise what I come back and find. The amenities in the room is well equipped with superb quality. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re ever in Kyoto and wish to stay somewhere away from the busy downtown. Look forward to stay here again in the future. PS. Crosta deliver my luggage to the hotel since I arrived very early in the morning. Then it’s hassle free to wander around without dragging the luggage to the hotel before check-in time. “Wonderful staff and great rooms”

Large and comfortable rooms at the top floor as we booked the compact room, with all the amenities you could wish for and many drink options in the mini bar that are stocked up daily. Location was really good. The best were the staff. Genuinely friendly and going above and beyond to help you, five star hotel staff. The bath was also a nice experience as there is a little window. To look down on traffic. As we were on the top floor, the common area terrace was right next to our room and we loved having a drink with city views.

“Great hotel in a great location”

The location is right on the river, very beautiful. Very close to a range of cafes/restaurants. We tried half a dozen different ones and loved them all. Great community feel, people were playing musical instruments and doing artworks along the waterfront. Walking distance to the Shimogamo-jinja shrine and the Imperial Palace gardens. Short train ride into the centre of Kyoto.

Lovely boutique hotel with wonderful and very helpful staff. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. Quiet and away form the hustle and bustle of the city. Near the river with a nice walking path. Easy walk to the bus station and very accessible by Uber. Would stay there again.

The hotel prepared the breakfast and dinner very well, and there is a warm hearted gift when we back from outside. Very nice and sweet.

“Like a home away from home”

The hotel and room were exceptional and furnished to a very high standard. It is close by the train station and has excellent transport links to popular tourist sights. Loved its location by the Kamogawa river. We saw fireflies and black kites when we were there. We loved the little personal touches like handwritten notes everyday telling us what the weather was going to be like and good wishes, also being invited to take part in Tanabata festival. Little treats of snacks and drinks left in our rooms to enjoy daily. The exceptional kindness and interest taken in our trips to the sightseeing events. We won't forget La, the English speaking young hotel receptionist who brought our breakfast every morning or Kameyuma the manager. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

“A very relaxing and pampered stay”

This is an exceptional hotel in Kyoto, you get to experience the best Japanese hospitality. Such beautiful view of the cherry blossom trees along the river from the hotel room. Everything is well provided for in the room and local Japanese sweets are left on the coffee table for us to try everyday, it was so thoughtful. We absolutely loved our stay there. Highly recommend.
