Onsen facilities in the property was excellent . They also had free icecream station after using the onsen . Even had the massage chairs placed there for their guests . Location was just 10 min walk to the train station which was very convenient.

The concept of the hotel is very interesting, it is like modern adaptation of ryokan, all shoes should be left at the entrance (special boxes with keys) and walk around hotel in socks (some walk barefoot but it seems not hygienic). Excellent location just near Kyoto station, where you can find good shopping centres (Yodobashi, Porta), good places to eat (I specially liked Porta food zone) and easy access to center via buses. Breakfast was good, variety of food including European options. Onsen is a main feature here, many onsens, it is quite big so that despite that the hotel is quite crowded you can still enjoy your time in bathes. Additional free compliments like ramen in the evening (delicious), ice creams in the onsen area and coffee/match/tea in lobby area also contributes to the positive image. I definitely recommend this hotel.

“Kyoto steals your heart”

It’s a very large hotel, so it’s always packed, but despite that, it’s run flawlessly. You have to take your shoes off before entering—they must be left in lockers at the entrance. I didn’t get to use the onsen because I didn’t have time, but I saw that most of the guests were using it. The breakfast was excellent and very varied; despite the crowds, the atmosphere was calm and quiet.

The rooms are spacious, it was close to where we needed to go to. There were nice restaurants within walking distance. The Onsen was amazing after a long day of sightseeing.

The hotel is located next to station, a bit off from the tourist place, but transport is convenient. The onsen is great, must go. Also although the hotel is always full (we stayed for 3 nights), you won't feel the pressure and crowd. Lift is quick. All well managed.

“Too many loud tourists, great Onsen and overall stay”

Excellent place to stay in Kyoto, The downside is too many tourists and too few facilities to care for so many people. There were 5 massage chairs but 1 of them was broken down, there is never a chance for me to use them. The Onsen is excellent but because there were no exclusive rules stated, aside from the tattoo room the tourists with no understanding the Onsen is a place of relaxation were talking loudly. Their kids had more discipline than them. The rooms were very clean and I love the Japanese room type, The staff was helpful and loved the towel replacement baskets they gave. Excellent supper meal each night and being near to a full 24hr gym is so good as well. Directly in from of a Honganji temple (east side) made this the best starting point and being near to main Kyoto station made this even better. However, the only issue is probably the unusual location of the smoking room and how freezing cold it was.
