We didn't try the breakfast, it wasn't clear to us how we organised it, but that may have been our oversight. Everything else was fabulous. One of our most loved Hotels we stayed in our whole 2 weeks trip.

The hotel’s location was excellent — right in Gion, directly across from a temple, surrounded by many shops and restaurants that truly brought the Kyoto atmosphere to life. It was very close to the train station, which made our trip to Osaka easy, and also near a bus stop for convenient transport. The hotel was within walking distance of the famous Hanamikoji Street and Pontocho area. The room was fully traditional Japanese style, and everything was thoughtfully prepared for a comfortable stay. It was very clean with beautiful decor. The bread-making machine was really interesting for the kids, and we woke up in the morning to the wonderful smell of freshly baked homemade bread. The reception area was very cozy and beautifully designed in a traditional Japanese style. The afternoon matcha service was lovely. Having a laundry in the hotel was also extremely helpful and convenient.

We stayed for 3 nights as family, first the location is walking distance to many sights & train stations are nearby. We loved the room and beds. We just had to re arrange the big table to fit luggages. The staff are wonderful too we sent bags from Tokyo and to our next hotel, they were very helpful! We love the tea in the rooms!

Location in the heart of Gion, busy road but very quiet inside. Hotel has a cool, modern design. Good value for money for Kyoto. Decent shower and small kitchen with fridge.

The location was fantastic close to everything or short walk.

The room was massive and very comfortable with an amazing bath that I still miss! It was a great way to rest between our adventures and everything was very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here, the location is amazing with so many options for food and shopping around. Very charming hotel.

Spacious room, laid out cool with different height areas, low bed and lounging space, kitchen with everything you might need. Unique offerings such as in room bread maker (you can request the ingredients along with a selection of traditional Japanese toppings for breakfast). Bathroom had separate toilet and a wet room style shower, in addition to a large bath tub. Staff very friendly/welcoming. Location great.

This place is a "class act". Beautifully decorated in a somewhat Japanese style with tatami mats and futon beds on the floor. Loved the teas supplied - need to find where they were sourced from :-) . The room was large with a separate living area and kitchen and centralised in the GION district.

OMO5 Kyoto Gion scores high marks for its setting—steps from Yasaka-jinja and the lantern-lit lanes of Gion—yet blissfully quiet once you’re inside. Staff could not have been more welcoming, answering every request with genuine warmth. Our “larger” family room still felt tight around the edges (understandable with two kids and luggage), but everything was spotless and cleverly laid out. Rates looked steep at first glance, yet they’re in line with other properties in this prime tourist corridor, so the value is fair for the convenience. All told, a solidly satisfactory stay that gave us front-row access to Kyoto’s evening magic.

Beautiful rooms with such character! So close to EVERYTHING. Walk out of the hotel and you have some amazing attractions at your doorstep. The staff were wonderful - very kind and patient. Lots of interesting information is supplied by the hotel regarding the area and a free tour is also provided which was great and so informative. Washing facilities were great. There is a lovely little bar and patisserie downstairs. Starbucks is across the road although when leaving the property to your left and about 5 shops up is a little bakery that does coffee and sandwiches which are great for on the go. We will definitely come back to this hotel as well as highly recommend it.

Beautiful room, very clean, friendly staff

Location The room’s decoration was stylish and cozy. Complimentary matcha tea served during the day was a nice touch. The pajamas provided at check-in were thoughtful and added to the comfort.
