A 7-minute walk from Kyoto Station, the completely non-smoking Ohanabo provides traditional Japanese-style accommodation with “Kaiseki” multi-course in-room dinners, massages and a hot public bath. Some rooms have an en suite bathroom, and the lobby has free Wi-Fi. This hotel was selected as one of Top 25 B&Bs and Inns in Japan by TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Award 2013. The air-conditioned rooms at Ohanabo Inn match a modern LCD TV, electric kettle and fridge with the timeless experience of Japanese futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Slippers, a toothbrush with toothpaste and a Yukata robe are provided. Located right across the street from Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, the inn is a 4-minute walk from Shosei-en Garden. Kyoto Tower is 450 metres away, and Gojo Subway Station is a 7-minute walk. A set menu of Japanese dishes is served for breakfast at the dining room from 07:00-08:30. Kyoto cuisine is served for dinner from 17:30-18:30, and must be reserved at time of booking.

Ohanabo was an excellent ryokan- the staff were amazing- so attentive, helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble. We had the traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast and both were exceptional. The rooms were spacious, beautifully presented and so cute. The onsen was amazing and we also bkd in for a 1hr massage which were so relaxing. I cannot rate high enough for this amazing hotel. Stay here, you will not regret it.

“Best place to actually experience a real ryokan with amazing staffs and delicious kaiseki dinner&breakfast”
It was an unforgettable stay! The excellent hospitality from all the staffs. It truly gave us a very sweet memory of being in an actual traditional ryokan with amazing designs and a sento. They provided cute yukatas and the futon beds was amazing to sleep on. The kaiseki was like art work and were delicious and they even offered for us to try sukiyaki for our 2nd night. They went above and beyond for us.

“A traditional Ryokan experience in the heart of Kyoto with beautiful traditional clothes to use in the property included”
Very traditional but with all the facilities you require the property is over 120 years old and has a small Sento bath which we had to ourselves as there were only a few other guests. It was everything we imagined it might be with a perfect location for just landing at the station 8 mins walk away. The breakfast and kaiseki dinner was amazing, for anyone wanting to try a traditional ryokan do not hesitate and book it!

“Relaxing stay”
We really enjoyed our stay at Ohanabo, the location is convenient, the staff are exceptional, the breakfast is also amazing, and the room is so spacious! I have to admit that I hesitated to book Ohanabo due to the price, but it's totally worth it. I will recommend Ohanabo to anyone visiting Kyoto!

We would highly recommend Ohanabo to anyone who is travelling to Kyoto! The hospitality and friendliness of the staff were exceptional - we were shown Japanese origami when looking around reception and staff members were even able to drive us to a nearby station to prevent us walking with our luggage. Ohanabo is within walking distance to Kyoto train station making it a perfect location for day trips to Nara, Arashiyama and Osaka. The facilities and room were excellent, which also includes the Japanese Onsen, and we were also able to use onsite laundry services. Ohanabo provided us with an exceptional traditional Japanese Ryokan experience.

The team were fantastic - they couldn't do enough for us. they were very professional. The ryohan was very authentic and really enjoyed the public bath. One of the team gave us a lift into the city, which we really appreciated. I cannot rate this accommodation highly enough.

Everything! The wonderful hospitality and beautiful place. The staff makes you feel like family. Also they prepared delicious vegan Japanese breakfast for us. I love the place!
