“A Truly Authentic Ryokan Experience with Exceptional Hospitality”
We chose this property to experience a traditional ryokan stay in Kyoto, and it was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, Yoko-san and her team made us feel incredibly welcome with traditional sweets, authentic green tea, and exceptional hospitality. Yoko-san even took the time to help us plan our day in Kyoto, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Wearing traditional Japanese attire and enjoying a delicious Japanese breakfast served by Mayo-san and Tomomi-san made the experience even more special. What touched us most was the kindness of the staff. After we checked out, Mayo-san ran nearly 500–600 meters to return the water bottle we had forgotten, and both Mayo-san and Tomomi-san waved goodbye until we were out of sight. Thank you, Yoko-san, Mayo-san, Tomomi-san, and Team Mitsuki for an unforgettable stay. “Nice and clean historic ryokan in a good position for starting every day’s expeditions.”
Cosy and beautiful historic ryokan kept in nice condition, clean and updated. We like this place and the very friendly staff. Yoko is very nice and helpful to find nice places for eating and visiting.

“Wonderful and welcoming stay”
We loved our stay at Mitsuki Ryokan. It was without doubt the best stay of our holiday in Japan. Yoko and Tomomi provided a wonderful experience that my daughter and I will remember. The rooms, the breakfasts, the generosity and kindness of our hosts was beyond exceptional. My daughter especially loved the breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay. Yoko was an incredible hostess. She is genuine, kind and very personable. The location was perfect. We loved our room. It was peaceful, clean, authentic and roomy. I cannot recommend Mitsuki Kyoto more highly.

“Beautiful, peaceful stay in traditional style ryokan”
Our stay at Mitsuki Kyoto was incredible! We can’t fault it in any way, this is a beautiful, peaceful ryokan in a beautiful city. The room was very spacious with a hallway area, bathroom and separate toilet. Yoko was extremely welcoming and made sure we had everything we need, including amazing local recommendations for restaurants, knife and ceramic shops. Breakfast was beautifully presented and very delicious. We wish we could have stayed for longer!

“Wonderful”
We just loved everything about our stay at Mitsuki. We felt like part of the family and Yoko and Tomini were just delightful. It was sad to leave but one day hope to return. If you are lucky enough to stay here, have the Japanese breakfast and a drink at the bar. Both wonderful experiences. Thanks so much for having us. We loved every minute xx Donna and Jayne xx

Our stay at Mitsuki was perfect - Yoko is an amazing host and her home is beautiful and stylish, with everything you need. The Japanese breakfast was a true highlight and they were kind enough to prepare it gluten free for me. Couldn't recommend this place more, I only wish we were able to stay longer!

Everything. An amazing stay, our favourite of our two week trip. Yoko made us feel very welcome and looked after us so well. The Ryoken has everything needed for a comfortable stay. We loved the culture and history of the building, and the beds were very comfortable

“The highlight of our trip to Japan - can't recommend enough”
Staying here was truly the highlight of our trip. The ryokan is incredibly beautiful, the room is spacious and private and Yoko was lovely and attentive throughout our stay. She explained everything carefully, helped us secure a dinner reservation nearby, and served us the most wonderful breakfast the next morning. Excellent service throughout, incredible location
