Great location close to Nijo Station, making exploring Kyoto easy. Staff where lovely and helpful. Accommodation itself was great - combination of traditional and modern styles with lots of space in all rooms and we loved the wet-room and large bath! Full kitchen with ample cutlery, glasses, dishes and stove/oven/microwave for eating in. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Kyoto!

We booked the Oike accommodation and were warmly welcomed by the host. We were even allowed to check in early and were immediately impressed by the accommodation. It was incredibly spacious and beautifully furnished. The beds were very comfortable, as if you were sleeping on clouds. The bathroom was a private onsen and felt very good after long days of exploring and walking. It is one of the best accommodations I've ever stayed in. Everything was perfect, and the friendly and welcoming host, in particular, made the stay so special. Thank you so much again.

If I could give this property 100 out of 10, I would. First; the property: It is spacious, very well appointed and beautiful. You do not need anything, from good stemware to bathrobes to cleaning every other day. Then; the people. Nothing is too much trouble for them, super friendly and you genuinely feel as if you made friends. Oh! And location: A quiet neighborhood yet loads of restaurants, coffee shops and convenience stores close by. A main train station is 200m from the front door. I fell in love with Kyoto!

Partway through our tour of Japan for our honeymoon we decided to stay in a house rather than another hotel, and we are so glad we did. The house was very clean, spacious, modern and comfortable, everything was high quality - the jacuzzi bath was a welcome luxury. Handy to have a washer/dryer for clothes partway through our trip. The excellent staff were available to welcome, check out and via text for anything during the stay. Only five minutes walk from a main station and close to the castle, yet we felt we were staying in a nice neighbourhood- not touristy. The house we chose from their several available was tucked away from the main road and was quiet and safe. Considering we had a whole house rather than just a hotel room it felt good value for money. Probably more than we would normally pay but it was great to use as a base in Kyoto for our five nights (we did a day trip to Nara, but there was so much to see in Kyoto we didn’t end up doing a trip to Osaka). The hosts booked us an amazing sushi making lesson with Sushi Shin at the museum which was a highlight of the holiday - highly recommended. There were a couple of big supermarkets right by the station so easy to pick up supplies. For a break from local cuisine I would also recommend Uruu restaurant about 15 minutes walk away for excellent Italian food. I loved the couple of little rabbit decorations in the house. The property was very secure, private, clean, and well presented. The staff were friendly and very helpful with any questions or advice we needed but were discreet and unobtrusive. The property is very close to kyoto Castle as well as various public transport options from the nearby transport hub, and taxis frequently pass the property, so it is easy to hail one if you are in a rush. The onsen is very modern, with the ability to start the tub filling from the upstairs lounge while you relax before being able to head down to enjoy the private garden view from the tub. There is a very large traditional japanese tatame room with a large table on the ground floor to host guests for dinner or games, which we took advantage of on our first night. Finally, the kitchen is well outfitted with everything you could want to host 6 or more people with ease and does have a European style dining table for those unnacustomed to the traditional Japanese style seating. We will recommend this property to any friends who travel to kyoto and will look to book it again should we return.

The apartment was great - very comfortable with some very Japanese elements which were great and exceeded my expectations. Loved the little garden and the tatami room. Good location very near Nijo station. We had a traditional Japanese breakfast one morning which was beautifully presented, and very interesting. The jacuzzi bath was fab. Very clean and well appointed.

Everything was very good, convenient location, clean and comfortable rooms with perfect bathtubs. The kitchen and laundry machine were handy. I strongly recommend this place

Beautiful and clean place with very friendly hosts. Large by Japanese standards with a lovely jacuzzi. Oike has both a traditional Japanese room and a Western room for those who don't like futons so you get the best of both worlds.
