Absolutely everything. The host, the communication, the lady who cleaned our room. The accomodation was lovely. Room was cleaned daily with towels everyday and our beds were always made. The best accomodation of our trip. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking at booking this for their trip to Kyoto.

We loved the location of this place. We were welcomed by Takase-san, who was so friendly and helped us up with our luggage. He made sure we understood where everything was and how it worked. The location was ideal. We easily accessed attractions on foot and had bus options for public transport. It was a 15min walk to the subway, which was great for us.

Wow. Above and beyond. That was the case when the presentation doesn't convey reality in the positive sense. Top-notch location, beautiful building and new, 5* living quality with everyday hotel-like cleaning. I didn't expect that.

The place was thoughtfully designed and had everything we needed for our two week stay in Kyoto. The heated floors were a nice touch after cold days outside. The location was perfect and on a quiet street away from the noise. I will for sure be staying again on my next visit to Kyoto.

Comfortable and clean facilities provided. All the amenities you could need for a great 3 night stay including washing machine, heated floors. Nice and safe neighbourhood and close to Fresco. Our host, Takakse-san is very welcoming and explained how all the amenities work and provided a binder with more details. It definitely helps when the washing machine and TV is in Japanese. Housekeeping is provided everyday.

“Amazing stay at Shimaya Stays Komatsu South”

We had an amazing stay here. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, modern, and beautifully designed with a traditional Japanese feel. One of the rooms had tatami mats with a very comfy floor mattress, which we loved. The area is quiet and peaceful, yet everything is within walking distance, making it a perfect location. The manager was absolutely amazing — such a lovely gentleman. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and he even helped us organise luggage forwarding to Tokyo. We had an early departure at 6:30am, and he still came to say goodbye, which was such a thoughtful touch. We would definitely recommend Shimaya Stays Komatsu South and would happily stay here again

This property was everything we wanted for our stay in Kyoto! Well located to stay locally but also for day trips out to Uji and Kumaradera, with buses taking you all over Kyoto. The local site manager Takase-san was amazing, communicating through WhatsApp and helping us organise luggage transfer. He even provided additional cleaning as my friend has quite bad allergies to the dust mites often found in Tatami mats/futons.
