“Great stay if you don’t mind a hard bed.”
Location was excellent with access to restaurants, izakayas and bakeries on the doorstep. The hotel is fronted by a really cool historic building which has the breakfast, bar and lounge in it.

The onsen. Was great to relax after a long day particularly, if like me, you have a few tattoos. It was empty almost every time which made it easier for me to pop in and not offend anyone.

The Japanese-style breakfast area and the library are a great experience for a visit to Japan. Right in front of the best pastry in town for a great breakfast option. Pretty clean ammenities.

Lovely hotel so close to everything we needed and wanted. The room size was decent by Japanese standards. The vibe was exactly what I wanted in Kyoto after the frantic pace of Tokyo.

A very well situated hotel in Kyoto local to stations, shops and restaurants. Large, clean rooms which were nice and quiet although just round the corner from a busy main road. The staff were extremely attentive and very fast if you required something I.e. an iron! All in all, a comfortable stay in a great area!

“Candeo Review”
The cosy and traditional Japanese vibe and culture. I loved the library for my morning coffee and daily planning. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had to leave a day early to head home overseas due to an unexpected death in the family. We would love to return to Japan and Candeo to finish our holiday as we were only 1 week in of a 3 week holiday.
