We were genuinely impressed by the service. The hotel had a fantastic location, and the rooms were beautiful! I could probably write a whole essay about how much I enjoyed our stay, but I don’t think anyone would actually read all of that. 🤣

For the two days we stayed there, it felt less like a hotel and more like we were visiting a close friend; it was so relaxed and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and spotlessly clean. Only one bed was exceptionally soft, which was a bit unusual for us. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful.

A beautiful room with a large bathroom. You could feel the ryokan atmosphere. The hotel staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The whole family, including my 7-year-old daughter, was delighted. I hope to visit this place again.

“Feel at home and outstanding service”

Everything is perfect at the Auberge Azabu. The location, the food, the room, the attention given to guests. After a day of visits, crowded streets and the noise of town, you’ll find here a peaceful nest. The breakfast is very good (English style), and don’t miss the dinner with the chef (book way in advance !) One point of attention: this is a very ancient Kyoto house that has been completely renovated but remains with noise insulation from the old times. Don’t go there if you’re not prepared to be very careful to others: walk calmly, talk quietly, whisper at night.

“Little treasure”

Location: good connection, still a very quiet street. Perfect little hotel, traditional, yet comfortable. Staff is amazing, restaurant recommendations are must try. We could not have a better stay for our Kyoto visit.

It was a small intimate property. The staff were incredibly helpful with arranging taxis and luggage forwarding service. Breakfast was delicious and the chefs matcha tea cake and cheesecake was to die for. Accommodation was a good mix of traditional and modern with all the extra finishing touches added that you would want from a boutique hotel. My daughters loved it and felt at home.

“A luxurious stay in Kyoto.”

We had a wonderful stay at Auberge Azabu. The room was really spacious and comfortable, lots of little touches, stylishly done. The breakfast was delicious and the staff treat you like family. The final day we had to leave early and they were kind enough to offer us breakfast earlier than the usual timings. The location is fantastic for getting around Kyoto. Highly recommend, this was one of our top stays whilst in Japan.

Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and created a warm, cosy and personal environment. The location was away from the busy tourist areas but ideally located for exploring Kyoto, and the breakfast was delicious.

An oasis in Kyoto- with the most amazing staff who were all so kind. The property itself looks stunning, rooms were more than comfortable and the breakfast was great. Though, staff members were the real stand out. Thank you to everyone for looking after us, especially Aki- who is probably one of the nicest humans one would come across.

Very modern ryokan near Gojo station, one metro stop away from Kyoto Station. Excellent and accommodating staff with generous room.size and very modern facilities. Home cooked breakfast was a delight.

This was the most wonderful stay in Kyoto. Christmas dinner was a specially designed vegetarian feast just for us. It was exquisite, a real memory to have with my family. Auberge AZABU is the most relaxing, welcoming, warm and friendly place to stay. We absolutely recommend staying there and are hoping to return this year.
