The best hotel I have been in in Tanzania. A blend of creative building, super friendly staff, and good location, and a good chef. We stayed for 2 days, monkeys jumping on the trees, and an elephant stralling by. This hotel is really special!!

“Excellent safari experience we highly recommend”

Outstanding experience, welcoming and attentive staff, great food, excellent coordination of activities- sunset cruise and game drive. Rooms were well designed and bed very comfortable. TV, hot water, and beautiful view of the river. An amazing experience- we’ve been on many safaris and this was one of our favorite experiences! Saw many animals! Pool will soon be done so that is a big plus especially for hot season. Very budget friendly too.

price far to high, no view to the river, trees are to high. Food expensive and not good.

“Great adventure”

We had a great time at Bakers. It was an adventure to get there in the rainy saison, but it was definitely worth it! The staff was extremely friendly. Graydon was very helpful. The food was great too. We were two families and enjoyed the peaceful place in the jungle. Like a little paradise. The safari and the boat trip was very nice. We saw a lot of animals.

We loved our stay here. The quietness of the jungle and the friendliness of the employees - especially the wonderfully kind and accommodating Gladness - made this a most amazing stay for our family. We came with children who had never tried this type of holiday before and were apprehensive of many things. Gladness looked after us so well, ensuring we were well fed (despite numerous allergies/dentistry issues!) and looked after and we were sorry to leave this most calming spot. Elephants grazing nearby, excellent river trips and jungle safari activities made this the highlight of our tour of Tanzania. Thank you!

“Unforgettable paradise with comfort and excellent food”

The location is just fantastic and filled with animals as the river is near by and gorgeous trees all around hosting many monkeys ( blue monkeys and colobus), bush babies and best music making birds… The host is great for organizing for you many activities like game drive, boat trip and walking hike in the bush… The food is absolutely exceptional and a great experience to have it on the roof of the cottage having company with the animals… It s been the best home cooking of all the places I stayed. Sweet Gladness ( her name) who took care of me made me feel at home and was ready to help with any of my requests. A good friend now.

Perfect location, very nice lodges with authentic feeling. Vinyl player music at diner in jungles is something exceptional. Be aware of monkeys - they stole our mangos and bananas.

“Charming lodge by the river with a very welcoming owner”

Charming lodge by the Rufiji river with a great view and very close to Selous parc. The bungalows are a perfect balance of confort and wilderness. The owner was welcoming and soooo helpful: he was flexible and accommodated our needs for planning activities for our family even at the last minute (thanks so much!). The staff was very professional and we enjoyed the food!

“Great place for relaxing by the Rufiji river”

The staff was doing their very best to give us excellent service. Turned on the surprisingly nice feature of an old record player at each meal, chasing away the stubborn monkeys, and the last day they even showed us the two elephants which passed just below our lodge! Such an amazing experience! The bungalow was built very rustic with local material, quite unique. Exciting and a very lush location along the Rufiji River!
