Beds are comfortable, breakfast have lots of variety. Every corner at lobby floor and common areas are well decorated, recommended.

“Disappointing Experience - Economy Room Feels More Like a Hostel”

I recently stayed at Utsikten Hotel Kvinesdal for one night and was very disappointed with my experience. I understand that I booked the “economy” room, which was the cheapest option, but given that this is a 4-star hotel, I expected a certain level of quality. Unfortunately, the room I was given fell far short of those expectations. The room was located on the first floor, small, and overlooked the parking lot, which was expected. However, the room was also smelly, dirty, and furnished with very basic and cheap furniture that did not reflect the standards of a 4-star hotel. The bathroom was particularly disappointing, with a linoleum floor—a material I’ve never encountered in a hotel bathroom before, and certainly not in one claiming to be 4 stars. The breakfast was another letdown. The coffee was poor, with no option for espresso or cappuccino, which was surprising for a hotel of this supposed caliber. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, but this alone did not make up for the numerous shortcomings. I want to warn potential guests not to make the same mistake I did. The management of this hotel should make it clear that the economy room is not up to 4-star standards and is more akin to what you’d find in the cheapest hostels. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Location of the Hotel makes the view of the kvinsdal village exceptional and there is a museum free entrance which explains the Architect of the village. As the name Utsiksten (good view).

View from the room was amazing….staff all extremely friendly….would definitely recommend this hotel. On arrival was offered an upgrade for a very small charge which we of course accepted. I travel a lot, and this hotel surpassed my expectations by a long shot…. This hotel is a bit off the main route if you are heading N or S, but definitely worth the detour.

A very nice hotel, that’s making it’s name, the view is absolutely fabulous from the restaurant and the terras. I had an economy suite, those havent the view from the room, but are quite nice. At some points in the room you can see it’s quite a few years in use, but the bed and furniture are a lot newer and fine. The breakfast had quite a large selection to chose from also the restaurant serves really nice food. The wifi worked great, the speed was very good.
