Really clean and great to have cooking facilities in the room. Sauna and cold plunge are a must if you stay here. We also took advantage of the paddle boards which was great fun!

Such a relaxing place to stay. The houses are very spacious and have everything you need to cook. It was really quiet. The supermarket is not far and the bus stop is just outside. The staff were very friendly.

The studio apartment was perfect. Amazing views, modern and clean. It even has a very well equipped kitchen with oven, stove, fridge. Other reviews that complained about the kitchen is wrong (at least for my Mink room, and maybe they’ve since improved it)

Steam pier was the most peaceful and stunningly beautiful place we have stayed. The unit was gorgeous and well appointed . We stayed in the puffin room and had the most incredible views. Front desk staff were lovely . It was everything we thought it would be and more,

Good location on the bus route so easily accessible with public transport. Very clean. Would be good for viewing northern lights (they even have minimal lighting to help improve viewing at night) but it was too cloudy when we were there so we didn’t see them. Easy access from airport by car or bus and cheaper than the city. Various types of accommodation to choose. Nice views across the fjord, even in the dark.

Overall, we had a good stay, but there are a couple of things that could definitely be improved. First, I was quite disappointed that parking is charged separately. I had read in advance that parking came with an extra fee, but I assumed it might be because there was something special about it. However, the parking is very basic — just an open space without any cover or noticeable maintenance — so it doesn’t really justify the extra cost. I understand that parking in Norway is generally expensive and often comes with a fee, but in this case, the hotel has its own private parking area. Even if the rate is low, I believe it should be included in the accommodation price. More importantly, for a hotel that presents itself as offering a more upscale or refined experience, charging for something like this feels unnecessary and somewhat out of place. It gives the impression that every small extra — whether it’s parking, laundry, or other services — comes with an additional charge, which takes away from the overall feeling of hospitality and generosity one would expect at this level. Another point is the arrival experience. Upon check-in, there was no guidance or assistance to find our room, which made things a bit confusing. It would be a nice touch to at least offer some orientation or accompany guests, especially after a long journey, and help guests feel more welcome. With a few improvements in these areas, the overall experience could be much better.
