4-star Tokinoniwa offers free internet access and flat-screen TVs in rooms, in the well-known hot spring area of Kusatsu. It features hot springs, free private parking and free shuttle. Tokinoniwa Ryokan is a 15-minute drive from Kusatsu Bus Station and a 5-minute drive from Kusatsu’s city centre. Spacious rooms feature tatami flooring, futon bedding and a wooden bathtub in the bathroom. They are fitted with satellite channels and a refrigerator are provided. This venue has very good hot springs, 3 private hot springs are available for use by anyone. They have a free use lounge that serves different snacks throughout the day.

“Overall a great experience”
It’s very clean. Private onsen in own room yet many public onsen options. Free late night ramen, free yakult in the morning and free ice cream in the afternoon/evening. Nice breakfast.

The dinners were simply outstanding and the Restaurant staff are to be congratulated for their excellent service . The 2 ladies attending to our group spoke good English and were incredibly helpful explaining each dish . They also took note of our dietary requirements.

“INCREDIBLE”
Absolutely loved our stay in Kusatsu. The private onsen was incredible. It was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the perfect way to relax. The room was stunning, especially the open-air bath, which felt luxurious and serene. The staff were exceptionally warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from start to finish. A truly memorable experience and one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend

“Comfortable, excellent staff”
This is a beautiful hotel/onsen. It is quite large, though. If you are looking for a quaint, quiet location, maybe another place would be good. The staff did an excellent job with the relatively large number of guests. There is a van that will take guests to the city center which is a real treat. The baths were very high quality. The water is excellent and the variety of baths was a welcome aspect. The server staff and front desk staff were amazing; pleasant, professional, and kind.
