What a beautiful, tranquil place. Family friendly with a well kept lawn in front of the spacious porch. Can't recommend it enough. Do keep in mind, it is in the middle of nowhere, 700 meters from the nearest local road.

Beautiful , peaceful location. The property is right by a river with many birds and other wildlife to spot. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We had to leave early in the morning so didn’t expect breakfast however our host got up early to ensure we had breakfast before our long cycle ride.

The most tranquil and restful place surrounded by nature and beautiful trees. Our host was very kind and informative and the staff kept everything very neat and clean. Our room was a good size with a lovely comfortable bed and the bathroom huge with plenty of hot water. There is a pool big enough for a swim in and very clean, but no seating, and a pool table too! The food menu was limitedl but adequate and good portions. There are plenty of soft seating ares around the building and a large dining area .Lovely place to come and unwind. Highly recommend . Well priced too.

Fantastic place and very reasonably priced. From the wonderful service and food to the abundant birdlife and creek meandering through the property everything is first rate. Not to mention the pool! Such a delightful suprise!

On our way from Negombo to Sigiriya, we stayed one night at The Twisted Tree. It is a beautiful and very peaceful place. We had a spacious room, a lovely hot shower, and a great swimming pool with a stunning view. We were looked after by an incredibly kind and caring host. He cooked a delicious dinner for us and also prepared breakfast, which we could choose ourselves and decide what time we wanted to eat. This personal touch made our stay extra special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, comfort, and genuine hospitality.

The hotel was incredibly peaceful and felt like a true retreat. We loved the beautiful natural sounds, the quiet surroundings, and the fresh water pool. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and kind. The fresh star fruit juice on arrival was such a special touch and absolutely delicious.

House has a big covered terrace which is great to chill while watching and listening to the river. Nature is all around. If you have time and a bit of luck you can spot eagle, peacock, monkeys ... it is nice to get lost among those coconut trees, plus staff is really nice and welcoming.

This place is Absolutely amazing. So peacefull and nice. Highly recommended! Really worth it.

“Peaceful stay”

We booked at last minute and needed a place to stay with 2 hours of the airport. Rivendell were able to give us a simple meal that evening and stuffed milk rice for breakfast which I loved. They arranged a taxi to the airport at a good price. Lovely veranda to sit in.

Beautiful accommodation in the “middle of nowhere “. The staff were very nice, you have access to books, pool and a nice garden. Perfect to rest and relax. I also had the massage they offer, which was also good. You can order breakfast, lunch, diner and snacks so you don’t need to leave the property. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable bed and big bathroom.
