“A culinary experience that exceeded expectations”

The Japanese style room we stayed in was remarkably large for Japan standards. Both the buffet breakfast and dinner were superb, in particular the evening meal with top quality sushi and fish. The hotel suffered a power outage on the day we arrived, but thankfully they set up a generator and everything returned to normal. To our surprise in compensation we were offered free drinks set for our two dinners. A very nice detail by the hotel management.

A very well located and welcoming onsen hotel. The staff accommodated our requests for extra bedding and towels. And the well appointed reception area was comfortable and offered self help, coffee and other drinks. The onsen bathing was exceptional with inside and outside baths. There was an area for children to play, karaoke room and a relaxing lounge. The buffet dinner and breakfast offered a variety of Japanese and Western foods and drinks. It was of a most acceptable standard. The views of rivers and mountains were special, and the Torokko small train was a unique ride, as well as the walks over the bridges and in the tunnels. Lots of interest in the area. Overall, a most pleasant experience.

Location: Few minutes walk from Unazuki onsen station and Kurobe gorge railway station. Beautiful view from the lobby and rooms. Facilities: fantastic onsen. Breakfast and dinner are interesting and varied. Rooms: opted for Japanese style rooms with futon beds. Good ambience. Great views. Space is adequate for a family with small kids. Cleanliness: excellent. Bathrooms/Toilets: separate shower room and toilets.

“Great hotel for a nature escape”

Amazing hotel, just a few steps away from the train station. It was a great view of the gorge, which can be enjoyed from the lobby and some rooms. The included buffet breakfast and dinner were one of the best culinary experiences we had in Japan. The food was tasty, fresh, and there were many options to choose from. The room was amazing: clean, nicely arranged and comfortable.

Amazing location, it is very close to a train station. There is a lovely view of the river and two bridges from the onsen and the lobby. Staff is very friendly, the local food in the banquet was delicious. The room was beautiful, quiet, clean and spacious. It far exceeded my expectations.

“Wonderful stay in Unazukionsen”

Close to Unazukionsen Station. The staff were friendly and even though the station was so close the staff kindly offered to drive us to the station without any booking required. We were very impressed by their service. The buffet dinner and breakfast was great and had a lot of variety. During dinner the staff set up the futon beds for you which was also comfortable.

The pick-up service from the train station is good. The dinner and breakfast buffet are satisfied.

Absolutely beautiful location - stunning at winter time with icicles everywhere. Beds comfortable. The toilet lid pops up automatically when you open the door and auto flushes as well. Private onsen can be booked and was wonderful. Rooms are large biggest of our stay in Japan. Would have loved to have spent more time here. Located about 200m from the train station but they have a shuttle to pick you up with your baggage
