“An experience I will never forget and always savour.”
An exceptional experience staying at a traditional Ryokan with an unbelievably good degustation dinner. The onsen/bath was another unforgettable experience. Our room was exceptionally large for Japan as were the two other rooms we used. We wore the robes provided to dinner and had the best photos and dinner of the entire 3-week holiday (and that is saying something). Staying at Bingoya Ryokan was the highlight of the trip and not just the best hotel.

We were greeted warmly by the hosts, who did everything in their power to make our stay pleasant and relaxing. The location is quiet, the property is well maintained, and the food we ate was delicious. The owners took the time to explain everything to us (dinner and breakfast times, use of the public bath, buses and taxis, etc). They were also available via the phone in the room, we could call the reception if we needed anything. Many amenities were provided, and the quality of service was amazing.

“Excellent”
This is my 3rd stay here and it’s wonderful every time. Yes, a futon is not always the most comfortable bedding and the pillows are interesting but the rooms are very spacious and beautiful in the traditional Japanese style, the setting is gorgeous, the staff are lovely and the bath is fabulous. Breakfast is a work of art. The cost is so reasonable compared to other traditional ryokan, it’s an excellent choice if you are visiting Okayama or Kurashiki.

“Very peaceful stay, clean facilities, great value for money!”
The room was quite clean and nice! As soon as I checked in I just relaxed in the room until it was time for my reservation for the shared bath. The bath was clean and allowed me to relax for the night. The ryokan breakfast was also very tasty. Definitely worth the value. I love how we had options on when the breakfast would be served (7:30, 8:00, or 8:30) There’s a convenience store nearby with a great selection of snacks. This experience was overall amazing after being overstimulated from the crowds in Tokyo and Kyoto. I was able to walk around the area and it was so peaceful with barely anyone around. If you have big suitcases, I would highly recommend renting the coin lockers at the station and just bringing an overnight bag to Bingoya. If I stop by Kurashiki next trip, I would love to book Bingoya again.

“Wonderful”
The hospitality was outstanding. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us including making breakfast for us a lot earlier than is usually offered to enable us to catch our early train. Having our own Japanese house was a great experience. Our own toilet was important. Experiencing a traditional wooden bath was wonderful.

“Take yourself back in time for a traditional ryokan experience with lovely hosts.”
Bingoya is a wonderful traditional Ryokan and it was an amazing experience. Beautiful tatami mat rooms, shoji screens, sliding doors, hanging scroll alcoves, peaceful gardens with stone lanterns - perfect! Delicious breakfasts, which look gorgeous too. Lots of details in the buildings- inside and out, so it is lovely to contemplate your surroundings in one of a hundred different spots.
