Beautiful Island, Exposed to the winds, Friendly staff.

Beautiful location on Kuata island, with beach, pools, nature walks. After 3pm we were allowed to access the Day-tripper section of the resort too, which had additional pools. The location is relatively close to Port Denarau/Nadi - only 2 hours on the Yasawa Flyer. The staff were super friendly and organised. There were not a lot of daily land-based activities, but the ones they had were very well done. The snorkelling off the beach was really good, and overall the beach is swimmable too - better in high tide, but not too bad in low tide. They also offered a good guided snorkel each day, and reef sharks easy to see. We didn't do any scuba, as the focus seemed to be on the bull shark feeding, which was not our thing. The marine talks each day were great. The bar and restaurant were really great and organised, food was good, staff were super friendly. We had a 'siga' bure which was able to fit a queen, single, and cot, with indoor bathroom.

Unique, memorable, excellent. We'll be back.

The reef surrounding the island is just incredible, looked after so well by staff and locals. Best snorkelling ever. The marine biologists bring so much knowledge and value to the resort. It's awesome to have them feeding into the experiences offered here and the free educational talks each night were one of my favourite parts of our stay. Please only go here if you intend on sticking to the rules of the reef, leave only footprints and take only photos, care for the coral and other marine life that makes this place so splendid. A great place to holiday if you enjoy learning about wildlife and positively contributing to the environment you visit.

Nice stay

I enjoyed my stay here. The food is okay, breakfast and lunch is a buffet style and then dinner is a set menu. The desserts are really small. Snorkelling is amazing here and the snorkelling with reef sharks is incredible! Facilities are pretty good, but the bathrooms can get pretty gross.

The location is stunning, the locals really kind and sweet, the diving team is superb. It was my first time diving ever and it was with the bull sharks - they teach you everything and make it really fun & easy! Would totally go again!

I spent two nights at Barefoot Kuata in the Safari Bungalow, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We loved that the accommodation was just steps from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the stunning surroundings at any time of day. This place truly holds a special place in our hearts, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The snorkelling at the resort was amazing, with crystal-clear water and frequent sightings of blacktip reef sharks! We’ll definitely be back one day :)
