“Nice central location with convenient car parking across the road”
We had the Deluxe room which was very spacious. We were on the top floor so we could barely hear any traffic noise from the street below. The Bathroom had a heated floor, separate bath, a walk in shower and a large sink area. It was also nice to be in a hotel where you could actually drink the tap water. Breakfast was continental in style with a wide variety of hot and cold foods on offer - unlimited on the quantity of items consumed (which made a change from some UK Hotels which limit you to 2 glasses of fruit juice and 2 hot drinks). There is on site parking in a roof section of the hotel, but it's cheaper to park across the road in the Aimo Park Lillemarkens P-hus garage. It works out at roughly £25 for 24 hours which for Kristiansand is actually pretty cheap. The payment machines take UK credit cards (there is a Norwegian / UK language choice option on the home page) where you can pay on exit but sometimes the machine declined payment (a common fault according to the car park guardian) - but the carpark records your numberplate on entry and will claim unpaid fees from the actual car owner or hire car company who will then take it from your deposit. Watch out because the lower section is closed at the weekend - but the signage is really small and in Norwegian only - but the carpark guardian manually 'let us out' on Sunday morning. There's a 'joker' mini supermarket across the road and an 'Extra' supermarket round the corner and across the road from the Trainstation. The Train and bus stations are only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Similarly, the hotel is in close proximity to the main shopping streets and malls.
