Very comfortable and well equipped rooms and nice grounds with access to the river below. Interesting decoration and artworks in the hotel... looks like it would be very cosy in winter

We stayed only for a single night on the way to Zagori The location is beautiful in the forest with a river running 50m away from our beautiful balcony. The breakfast was very tasty and rich and the hosts were nice

Good morning... This is the first negative review I've made... I've traveled to most parts of Greece, Europe and many places around the world, by motorbike, car etc. In 90% of the accommodations I stay, I use booking, due to validity... What happened to me in this particular hotel, has never happened to me anywhere... For some stupid reason, its owner treated me, not as a guest, but as an enemy... So, instead of taking a walk in the Pindos mountains that I love, I almost ended up in prison for assault... If a hotelier lacks courtesy, what can I do with everything else... If you spend the whole day thinking about how you'll get back to the hotel and meet him, you lose the joy of the trip... Consequently, I recommend staying away from such people...

We got a very warm welcome - both from management and in terms of the temperature and cosiness of the room. It was windy, chilly and rained most of the time during our stay, so this was very important. There was an excellent enclosed fireplace and we could help ourselves to as much wood as we wanted from a store room outside. The room was clean and comfortable, with a four-poster bed and we very much appreciated the many tealights in different kinds of holders. The room was clean and the feeling of peace was almost perfect. Most of the time, all we could hear was the sound of the bubbling river below and exquisite birdsong outside, just as we had hoped. I should say, though, that we were almost the only guests at the hotel during our stay. The extensive forested area around was unspoilt and truly beautiful.

“A stunning cabin in the woods experience!”

The place itself was just so beautiful and warm! Literally like a cabin in the woods! Especially in the winter! Our room was so lovely decorated and we had a beautiful view with a balcony to the river behind the hotel. The hotel itself is also very beautiful and warm! The staff, especially the owner/main hostess were the nicest we've met in our trip! They did their very best to accommodate and help us! The location isn't great in it being close to anything main, it's great in it being just between Metosovo and Gervena and also up in the mountains, so if you are planning to visit these two towns, this will be a great place to stop for the night while enjoying amazing views (and snow!) on your way!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I could only stay for a couple of hours and had to leave in the middle of the night; but I got a nice hot shower, a lovely meal with a free dessert (not sure if this is normal or the host could tell that I had a rough day and needed it) and a couple of hours of sleep in a very comfy bed. The whole premise is beautiful and the room was so cozy and inviting with very nice decorations.

We absolutely loved La Moara. It’s in the middle of the remote Valia Calda mountains, cozy and warm - fires in the bedrooms, fur rugs on the chairs, no sound but birdsong and the river running below. Some rooms are in treehouses and some are on wooden walkways. We had the warmest welcome I can remember from the owners and Petra. They were incredibly friendly and kind, and made us a delicious dinner full of local specialities and a lavish home cooked breakfast. We had a fantastic time exploring the valley - we found bear prints on the bank downstream! Valia Calda is in the Pindus national park so is full of incredible wild animals and plants. It was glorious to be so taken care of and feel so close to nature. This would be a wonderful place to watch the seasons change. We didn’t have time to check out the sauna and Turkish bath but I imagine it would be especially lovely in winter.

The atmosphere was unique, cozy and very artistic, like a fairytale. The hosts were amazingly friendly. The food was authentic and delicious like home made one with top quality products. It was extremely clean and comfortable.
