We had such a great stay here. Tommy was very welcoming and accommodating. The cafe was lovely as well. Please follow Tommy’s recommendations to have a perfect stay in Koyasan ! The atmosphere is out of this world in the evening and early morning. One our the highlights of our 2-months Japan trip.

We really loved this place! The room was relatively small (keep in mind that there isn't much space for luggage), but it was very comfortable and cozy, and having a balcony was a great bonus. The host was extremely kind and gave us excellent local recommendations. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and very enjoyable.

Although quite basic it was clean and had a good shower. Tommy is the perfect host. Very friendly. He makes very good coffee.

“Lovely stay at Tommy’s”

The proprietor was amazing, very friendly and helpful, and he spoke English well. He provided us with plenty of useful information about Koyasan so that we could make the most of our time there. Our family suite was quiet and spacious and included a washing machine and free snacks. The only downside for us was the firmness of the pillows and mattresses, an issue we faced in most of our accommodations across Japan. He and his wife also run a very good cafe serving sandwiches, cakes (carrot cake!) and coffee/tea directly next to the guesthouse. As guests we received a 20% discount on our bill. The guesthouse is centrally located in the village, with a free car park just a minute or two away.

Host Tommy was incredibly kind and helpful and showed us where to go and at what time for the cultural experiences, there were also snacks and drinks provided in our room which was super helpful after our long journey. The room was comfortable and very clean, just what we needed and the price was good too. The cafe was a great place to go for breakfast with yummy croissants and coffee. We would highly recommend staying here! Thank you Tommy!

“A beautiful stay”

Tommy is just wonderful friendly and helpful despite being very busy due to circumstances.

The owner was so great and knowledgeable! He was born and raised in koyasan and you can really see his passion and love for the place. The café next door is great and as a guest you also get a discount. Location is also great for the morning ceremony and the bell in the evening. Unfortunately I only stayed a night so I couldn't make it to the goma ceremony. But next time I plan on going. Room was great, a lot of room as I was alone, but even with two people it's enough space.

Tommy is a very nice host and the room was very clean and practical.

Tommy was great, tge room was comfortable and the place could not be located more centrally. When you visit, make sure to listen to Tommy's tips on what events and places to visit, he provides excellent advice!

It was easy to find. It was well priced. The room was spacious and we were impressed with the number of rooms we had.
