Opened in June 2012, Boutique Hotel Hippocampus is located within the UNESCO-protected Old Town of Kotor. It offers free Wi-Fi and a restaurant with a roof terrace overlooking San Giovanni Walls. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature modern furnishings and an LCD satellite TV. This boutique hotel is set in a 17th century building, only steps away from the churches of St Anne and St Nicolas. One of the main sights are the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon and fortifications which stretch for 4.5 km. Tivat Airport is 5 km away. The Old Town of Perast is at a distance of 10 km. Budva, known for its beaches and nightlife, is within 15 km. Croatia’s border is 50 km away, while Dubrovnik Airport is 75 km from the Boutique Hippocampus Hotel.

The location within Kotor’s Old Town was excellent, offering easy access to the historic sites and a vibrant nightlife scene. While prices were on the higher side, they were justified by the prime setting and overall experience. The amenities were excellent and well-maintained. One small suggestion for improvement would be to prepare the omelette with butter rather than oil, as this would enhance its flavor

The location of this hotel is amazing! It is right in the centre of the old town and you can walk everywhere. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the rooftop bar is very nice. The staff are very friendly.

We stayed for one night. At first the AC wasn’t working well, but the staff were really kind and upgraded us to the hotel suite. The room was nice and had a special vibe. The hotel is inside Kotor’s old town, and the design fits the historic atmosphere. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was honestly one of the best I had in Montenegro.

“Excellent boutique hotel”
Historic nice hotel with an elevator. Nice room with a gold board with the room number right under the door. Friendly staff. The bar with a restaurant on the terrace was nice and refreshing.
