Might be a bit old but it was a really nice experience to be able to stay in such a traditional ryokan. The interior was also very well kept and tidy. The hosts were really welcoming and helpful even though we arrived really late.

“This is a good central spot in Kotohira. Close to the shrine and lots of food and street stalls.”
The proprietor is lovely and helpful. She gave us a map of places around the ryokan as well as large size loaner umbrellas (larger than our conbini type) which was great as we arrived on a very rainy day. The rooms are as expected for Japanese style in an older building. The onsen is simple but clean and that's all that really matters.

1. Perfect location if you're going to 金刀比羅宮! 2. The owners are friendly and lovely, they gave us a map and a guide book introducing recommended restaurants. 3. Plenty of room space and it's very Japanese style. 4. Free parking.
